Kistler Racing Products FAST Series Presents FASTfest 2

MAUMEE, OH (12-5-09) by Bryan Autullo - FAST Public Relations

The Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (FAST on Dirt, Inc.) and Kistler Racing Products would like to invite all race fans and country music fans to join us on December 19th for FASTfest II.  The event will take place at The King's Den in Green Springs, OH with Lonesome Pony providing the entertainment.  Lonesome Pony is a 6 peice country band from the Sandusky, OH area playing everything from old to new country and some original music.  Members of the band are Todd Baker (lead guitar & vocals), Keith Gildenmeister (bass guitar), Jerry Williams (rythm & vocals), Chuck McNair (drums & vocals), Bob Mead (synth & vocals), and Rick Sebetto (lead vocals).  Rick Sebetto is the brother of 410 sprint car driver Bryan Sebetto and the band has been playing all around Northern Ohio in recent years and have gained quite a following.

This will be a charity event for the Toys-For-Tots campaign and will be the last opportunity for people to donate to the organization before Christmas, which is just a few days later.  Admission to the event is just $5, but if you bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate you will recieve $3 off the price of admission at the door.  We expect a large turn-out for this event so get there early and stay late.  It should be a good time for a good cause and is a great way to shake off the winter blues while the local dirt tracks are blanketed with snow.

The King's Den is located at 123 South Broadway Street in Green Springs, OH.  For directions or for more information you can call The King's Den at (419) 639-2008.

Two Tracks, One Champion: FAST Series Awards Banquet to be Held October 17th

RLS9-12-09FAST3

MAUMEE, OH (10-7-09) by Bryan Autullo - FAST Public Relations

With the inaugural Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship season in the books, it is time to award the Kistler Cup trophy to series champion Craig Mintz.  Craig narrowly edged out Byron Reed and claimed the first ever Fremont/Attica Sprint Title and will have his name etched in the record books as the first Champion to accept the award.  With only 5 rain outs on the 22 race schedule, Mintz had to be on top of his game every weekend to hold off multi-time track champion Byron Reed who was knocking at the door throughout the second half of the 2009 season.  "It was a great inaugural season," said series co-founder Bryan Autullo.  "It worked out exactly the way I predicted it would back in January.  I said we could very well end up with three separate champions with our series and both tracks at the end of the season and that's exactly what happened."  Chris Andrews claimed the Attica track championship while Brock Mayes took home the Fremont Speedway title.  "We're looking forward to bigger and better things in 2010 and beyond", continued Autullo.  "I've already been working on a few new ideas and talking to a few new sponsors.  We hope to continue the success that we had in our first year of doing this deal."

The awards banquet will be held on October 17th at the Green Springs VFW Post 6067 (Green Springs, OH) located at the corner of SR 778 & CR 44 South of Green Springs off of SR 19 and is open to the general public.  In fact, all race fans are encouraged to attend in order to celebrate with the first FAST Champion and the rest of the Top 20 drivers.  "We invite all race fans to come out and join the party," said Autullo.  "We wanted to do something a little bit different and make this a celebration for the fans, drivers, sponsors, track promoters and employees, and the local racing media to look back on a great 2009 season as we hand out some cash and prizes to the guys who entertained us all season long."

Entertainment for the evening will be provided by acoustic guitarist/singer Mel Burns from Sandusky, OH.  Mel is a very talented musician who will perform alternative and rock hits along with his own original music to entertain the crowd before and after the awards are presented.  In addition, there will be a Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament immediately following the award presentations.  Tim's Dirt Track Simulators will be there to allow fans to challenge their favorite drivers in some virtual dirt track cometition throughout the eveing.  Hoserville Ohio will hold a silent auction with racing memoribilia with all proceeds benefitting their injured drivers fund.  There will be a 50/50 raffle and one lucky fan will walk away with a cash prize.  Video highlights from the 2009 FAST season will be shown throughout the evening and there will be enough bench racing to keep all the gearheads in the racing spirit as winter approaches and the cars are parked in the shop until Spring.

"One thing we didn't want to do is have another shirt and tie event with a fancy catered meal," says Autullo.  "This FAST Series was conceived in an effort to increase fan participation, so this is for the fans.  No suits and no ties!  No $30 tickets to attend this event!  We're charging just $5.00 at the door and we want people to come and have a good time.  We want teams and drivers to be able to bring their whole family to celebrate, so we made it very affordable."  Kids under 12 will be admitted for free (with an adult).  Drivers and Team Owners will be admitted for free.  Also, all companies who sponsored the series in 2009 will be given free passes at the door.  Any company needing more than two passes should contact the FAST Series no later than October 15th.

There will be a cash bar for soft drinks and alcohol and food will be served concession style for those who wish to eat.  Shredded Chicken, Sloppy Joes, Hot Dogs, Chips, and Nachos/Cheese will be available for a nominal fee.

"One thing that we're extremely proud of," says series co-founder Scott Porter, "is the fact that we are going to be able to give a little something to everyone who finished in the Top 20 in our points."  The FAST Series has advertised that more than $50,000 in cash and prizes were up for grabs this season.  "We will be handing out $28,000 in cash to our Top 10 finishers and they will also receive several nice contingency prizes from our generous sponsors.  Then we plan to spread the wealth from 11th through 20th place with miscellaneous contingency prizes and random drawings for other parts and prizes.  We want these guys all to leave the banquet with something in their hand."  In addition to the $28,000 in cash awards, the FAST Series has collected more than $25,000 in contingency prizes.  "Some of the other awards we'll hand out include the SpeedMeetsArt FAST Rookie of the Year, the Productive Tools & Equipment Mechanic of the Year, the GME/Nields Cool Move award, the Hepfner Racing Products Tough Luck award, and the Zemco Headers Hard Charger of the Year," continued Porter.  "We may have a few other tricks up our sleeve yet, so come out and see what its all about on October 17th!"

(Green Springs, Ohio) Fremont Speedway 9-26-09: Saturday Sept. 26th would mark the end of the 3J teams 2009 schedule. With 30 410 sprints in the pits, Kevin would end up 23rd quick with a circuit of 13.26. The qualifying time would place Kevin on the pole position in heat race #3. Chad Kemenah would pull away a bit for the lead and eventual win, but the battle amongst the next 4 cars would wage for the entire race. To quote an old cliche' "you could have thrown a blanket over positions 2 through 5 for most of the race. Kevin would end up finishing 3rd behind Shawn Valenti, with Mike Linder in 4th and Brock Mayes missing the transfer in the 5th spot. In the A-Main Kevin would start from the 19th spot. He began to work forward using the top side of the track all the way around, and was about to make a pass for the 13th spot when he slipped off the high side of turn 4. By the time he gathered things up and got the 3J machine back onto the racing surface, he had slipped back to the 20th spot. A couple caution and red flags slowed the pace of the race. By the time the checkered waved on the season ending event, Kevin found himself finishing in the 15th position.

The team also handed out the awards for the coloring contest. All of the winners except for one were able to make it to the track for the nights racing action. Photos of our winners can be found in the Fan Section or in the Coloring Contest Section. A big Thank You to all of our participants.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Fremont Speedway 9-19-09: What a difference a night makes. What a difference a sub-par qualifying lap makes to be more precise. Kevin and the 3J team were playing catch up all night long on Saturday at Fremont Speedway after having a pretty decent night the night before here at Fremont. Kevin would go out tenth to qualify and timed in at 13.122 which wound up being 30th quick in the field of 44  410 sprints. Starting 8th in the second heat race of the night, Kevin would bring the 3J machine home in the 6th position, just one spot shy of a transfer to the A-Main event. In the B-Main, Kevin was scheduled to start tenth, but was bumped up to an eighth place start after a few cars had scratched from the B-Main. Kevin had worked his way up as far as 6th place at one point, but couldn't quite find a comfortable handle on the car it seemed. With just a few laps remaining Kevin was running in the 8th spot when he bicycled bad in turn 3. He somehow managed to bring the car down on all 4 tires and came to a rest at the top of turn 4 bringing out the caution flag. Kevin brought the 3J sprinter pit-side after the incident. He was scored with a 13th place finish at the races conclusion.

Kevin and the 3J team will be back at Fremont next Saturday 9-26-2009 for the season finale.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Fremont Speedway 9-18-09: Kevin and the team unloaded in the pits at Fremont Speedway on Friday night along with 40 other 410 sprinters set to do battle on night one of the two day schedule. The track was in very heavy condition right from the get go and remained heavy and fast all night long. The billboards in turns 2 and 3 were completely covered up with a thick layer of Fremont clay to the point that they were solid brown.

Kevin would be the 21st of 41 cars to take time on the night and his lap of 13.13 held up for 21st quick. That would earn him a pole position starting spot in heat race one. With the 7T of Troy Vaccaro starting to his outside, Kevin quickly mashed the throttle down on the NOS Energy Drink, Papa Jimmies BBQ & Pizza, Humbert Trucking #3J and bolted to the lead at the drop of the green flag and pulled away for a convincing win in the 8 lap caution free race.

Reverting back to his qualifying time for the feature line up Kevin would find himself starting from the 17th spot. He would run most of the race in and around that starting spot and eventually wound up bringing his JD Automotive backed sprinter home in the 18th finishing position.

Kevin and the gang will be back at Fremont tonight to try and put the 3J sprinter in the show and up front.

Double header slated for this weekend at Fremont.

3J Motorsports PR

Contact: pr@3jmotorsports.com

(Green Springs, Ohio) The 3J team will be back in action this weekend at Fremont Speedway. The weekend starts off tonight with 410 sprints and the Dirt Trucks on the card. The figures to be a stout and large field of 410 sprinters on hand for the double header. Friday night is a non-sanctioned event with an increased purse that pays $4,000 to win. Friday nights racing will also include a "King of the Hill" match race event which will pit the top 8 qualifiers that transfer to the feature via their heat race in a round robin, head to head, series of races of which the winner will get to choose the inside or outside front row starting spot of the feature. The second place finisher will start from the other front row position. Saturday night the All Stars will sanction the 410 racing with the Fremont 305's joining the card. The Saturday night feature pays $10,000 to win. There is a $1,000 bonus each night to the fast qualifier. The driver that passes the most cars after adding both nights together will earn a $500 bonus. And finally, if the same driver wins the Friday and Saturday features they will receive a $6,000 bonus. That's a potential to win $22,500 if the same driver is fast qualifier both nights, wins both features & passes the most cars combined.

The team plans to race both nights this weekend as well as the final Fremont race of the 2009 season next weekend. Get on out to the track tonight and tomorrow and support Kevin and the team. Be sure to stop by the pit area after the races and chat with the guys.

We will have coloring pages and crayons at the track on Saturday for the youngsters to enter for a chance to win tickets to Fremont's final race next weekend. Look us up. We will be at our camper that is located on the right hand side of the drive as you walk up to the main ticket booth. This will be offered from 3PM until hot-laps begin. We will have something up identifying our spot as the 3J spot.

Kevin and the team just finished up the final points racing of the season last Saturday at Fremont as last weekends racing was the final night of points races for Fremont as well as the final F.A.S.T. Series race of 2009. Kevin finished the 2009 season 9th in the final 410 standings at Fremont, 9th in the standings with the F.A.S.T. Series, and 7th in the final standings at Attica Raceway Park. Along the way Kevin also garnered 2nd place in the rookie of the year standings at both tracks and with the F.A.S.T. Series. He was edged out by fellow rookie Cap Henry by just 7 points in the Fremont Standings, 13 points in the F.A.S.T. standings, & 28 points in the Attica Standings. The two battled all year long for the titles with Cap leading the Fremont & F.A.S.T. points most of the year and Kevin leading the Attica points up until the second to last week when an unfortunate incident in the C-Main set Kevin back far enough that he could not make up the difference with just one race left on the schedule.

Fremont 305 Invitational results.

(Green Springs, Ohio)

Fremont Speedway: 9-6-09: The 3J team acquired another frame about mid-week and were able to get the 305 car put back together for this weekends 305 Invitational at Fremont Speedway. The original 305 car had been disassembled to utilize the frame for the 410 effort after that car was badly damaged in a C-main flip at Attica back on Aug. 22nd.

Kevin went out in the 3rd session to qualify and put down a lap of 13.77 which held up for 7th quick on the night. Kevin then started 5th in the third heat and moved his way forward to finish second behind Zack Kramer. The hest finish locked Kevin into one of the King of the Hill dash races that would eventually determine the front row for the A-main event. The top 8 qualifiers that transferred via their heat race would earn a berth in one of the Dash races. The dash races pitted the 1 seed vs. 8 seed; 2 seed vs. 7 seed; 3 vs. 6 & 4 vs. 5. First round winners advanced to race in round 2, then those last two winners raced head to head to earn the right to pick inside or outside of the front row. Kevin lost his first round dash race to the #40 of Bobby Clark who eventually lost in the King of the Hill final to John Ivy.

Kevin however still had earned a 6th place start in the feature event as fast qualifier DJ Foos had rolled a 10 for the starting inversion. On the initial start Kevin bolted to the top of the track in one and two and was running in the 4th spot when the yellow came out for Brad Bowman slowing in turn 4. A complete restart was in order. On the second attempt to start the feature Kevin went into turn one a little high and got caught up in the cushion which upset the car badly. He dropped back to 10th and settled in to start working on regaining the lost positions. Kevin ran in and around the tenth spot for much of the race. Then on a restart after a lap 24 caution Kevin was able to pick up a couple spots and moved into the 8th position. Another caution on lap 27 helped the 3J as on that restart Kevin bolted into the 6th position only to slip back and finish 7th after Brad Haudenschild slipped back under the 3J on the final lap.

Kevin and the 3J team will be back in action next Saturday Sept. 12th at Fremont Speedway for Fremont's season championship night. It is also the Final F.A.S.T. Series event in the series' inaugural season.

Kevin finished 7th in the 2009 Attica Raceway Park 410 standings, sits 10th in the 410 standings at Fremont Speedway, and holds down the 9th  spot in the F.A.S.T. Series standings. Kevin is 2nd and trails fellow 410 rookie Cap Henry by 35 points in the F.A.S.T. Rookie Standings with 1 F.A.S.T. Series race remaining on the schedule.

(Green Springs, Ohio) The 3J team had no idea of the long night that awaited ahead of them when they pulled in the gate at Attica Raceway Park for WNWO Channel 24 NBC/Aaron's Sales and Lease Night on Saturday night Aug. 22nd to do battle in the 410 sprint division. The night started off poor with a very high pill draw for heat race starting positions. There were (38) 410 sprinters in the pits and Kevin's draw placed him starting last (10th) in heat race number two. The track was smooth, tacky and fast. With a very stout field of cars in the heat, Kevin was only able to manage a 9th place run which would end up garnering him a 6th place start in the C-main. The C-main would prove to be treacherous for Kevin and his 3J machine as on the initial green there was contact between Kevin and the #6 machine of Ryan Dickey. The contact sent Kevin into a series of flips down the front stretch wall finally ending off the end of turn one when the car came to rest on all fours on the horse track. Kevin was a bit shaken after the incident and the car was torn up very bad.

Kevin was checked out by and transported back to the pit area by the track ambulance. Awhile later Kevin started to have some stomach pain and decided to go get checked out at the ER to be safe. All tests came back negative and Kevin made his way home for the night.

Sunday morning found Kevin back at the race shop to help get the car torn down. "I'm pretty sore and stiff, but other than that I 'm ready to get back at it asap" Kevin stated from the shop Sunday afternoon. The team got the car completely stripped down and ready to take to Mark's (Keegan) shop to see how bad she's bent and if it can be repaired. "I think we are going to put the engine in the other car to fire it and make sure it is all right" Kevin said.

The team is preparing a plan to make the final Attica FAST race next Saturday. With 6 races left on the 3J 410 schedule for 2009, the team is regrouping to complete the season.

Kevin would like to thank everyone that has inquired about his condition following the crash.

Stay tuned to www.3jmotorsports.com for updates on the teams progress this week and beyond.

(Green Springs, Ohio) The 3J team will take part in the exhibition race at Fremont Speedway on Thursday 8-13-09. The 3J team will prepare and provide a car for use during the event. Other teams expected to provide cars for the event are Linder Motorsports and TGE Racing (Craig Mintz). Former sprint car star and current NASCAR crew chief Frankie Kerr, along with NASCAR drivers Marcos Ambrose and David Reutimann are expected to take some laps around the 1/3 mile clay oval. Below is a copy of the press release issued by Fremont Speedway regarding the event. Cars are expected to hit the track around 6:30-7PM.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009
Contact: Brian Liskai
liskai2x@cros.net

FREMONT, Ohio - Many of the drivers and crews in NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series
can trace their racing roots back to the dirt tracks across the country like
Fremont Speedway. As the teams head north to Michigan International Raceway
for their Aug. 16 NASCAR event, Sprint Cup drivers Marcos Ambrose and David
Reutimann, along with Ambrose's crew chief Frank Kerr, will stop in "to
play" at "The Track That Action Built," located in the historical Sandusky County Fairgrounds in Fremont, Ohio.

"One of our local drivers was at Indy visiting with Frank (Kerr) when NASCAR
was there and gave Marcos a sprint car t-shirt and jokingly told him that's
what a real race car looks like. Marcos said he always wanted to drive a
sprint car and one thing led to another and with Frank's connections to
Fremont, they decided to come out and have some fun on the dirt," said
Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer.

Ambrose, Reutimann and Kerr are expected to make several laps behind the
wheel of an 1,100 pound, 850 horsepower sprint car at the one-third mile
clay oval on Thursday, Aug. 13. They are expected to hit the track around
6:30-7 p.m.

The best part is area race fans can watch for FREE! There is a $10 fee for
anyone wanting to go into the pits. And, the track's concession stand under
the covered grandstands will be open.

"They just want to come out and experience what it's like to race a sprint
car on dirt and to have a relaxing, fun time. We thought our fans would like
to see what they can do and have some fun and not have to spend any money to
do it," added Farmer.

Ambrose drives the Little Debbies, Kingsford Charcoal, Clorox #47 with Kerr
serving as his crew chief. Ambrose, from Launceston, Tasmania, currently
sits 18th in the NASCAR Sprint Cup standings with an average finishing
position of 19th. He has recorded a pair of top five runs this year. He
picked up his first NASCAR victory in the Nationwide Series in 2008 on the
road course at Watkins Glen, where the Sprint Cup teams head in two weeks.

Reutimann drives the Aaron's Dream Machine #00 for Michael Waltrip Racing.
He picked up his first NASCAR Sprint Cup victory earlier this year and
currently sits 16th in the point standings with an average finishing
position of 17th. The Zephyrhills, Florida native comes from a family with a
strong tradition in open-wheel racing including modifieds.

Kerr moved to Fremont, Ohio when he earned four All Star Circuit of Champion
sprint car titles in the 1990s. In fact, Kerr's last All Star feature
victory came at Fremont Speedway during an Ohio Speedweek event. After
which, Kerr retired from driving and later became a valuable crew chief in
the NASCAR ranks. Kerr visited Fremont a year ago and gave a few lucky fans
a ride in the track's two-seat sprint car.

Kevin started heat #1 from the pole position and raced to a second place finish behind race winner Chris Andrews. Craig Mintz, Cap Henry & Travis Philo would also transfer from the heat. Kevin would redraw and come up with a 4th place starting spot in the A-Main. In the A-Main Kevin brought the JD Automotive, Papa Jimmies BBQ & Pizza, Ace Archery #3J home in the 9th position.

Fremont Speedway 8-1-09: There were 22 410 sprints signed in at Fremont on Saturday night. Kevin came out of the box strong with a qualifying effort of 12.52 which was second quick on the night just .01 off of the quick time set by fellow rookie contender Cap Henry. Starting 6th in heat #2, with passing at a premium, Kevin maintained his starting spot with a 6th place finish. There would be no B-main as the track decided all cars would start the feature event. Kevin would roll off 9th in the main event and worked the bottom of a very fast and tacky race surface. He battled for much of the race with Mike Linder and Mark Keegan for the 7th, 8th, & 9th place spots. When the checkers waved Kevin brought the NOS Energy Drink, JD Automotive #3J home in the 10th position.

Kevin and the 3J Motorsports team will be back in action this weekend at Attica Raceway Park on Friday (8-7-09) & Fremont Speedway on Saturday (8-8-09) for another pair of F.A.S.T. Series events.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Attica Raceway Park 7-24-09: The night started off on a sour note, as the 3J machine was found to have a broken rocker arm after firing to put heat in the motor. Some quick work by the crew and Scott Gressman had the 3J ready to hit the track by the scheduled hot-lap session. When heat race action finally got under way, Kevin found himself starting 3rd in the first of 3 heats for the F.A.S.T. 410 sprinters. Kevin held off Caleb Griffith at the checkers to come home in the 5th and final transfer spot, earning a 13th place start in the nights A-main. In the A-main Kevin battled throughout the 30 lapper with a very loose race car finishing 17th.

Fremont Speedway 7-25-09: Mother nature forced Fremont Speedway to pull the plug on the racing action for what would have been night #16 of F.A.S.T. competition.

Kevin and the 3J Motorsports team will be back at it this weekend at Attica Raceway Park on Friday (7-31-09) & Fremont Speedway on Saturday (8-1-09) for another pair of F.A.S.T. Series events.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Kevin and the 3J team had originally planned to race the 305 car at Attica on Friday and at Fremont Speedway on Saturday, but decided on Thursday to head to Lakeville Speedway to race on Friday night instead. After the racing action ended on Friday night, Jason (car owner) told the boys to head to Mercer Raceway if they wanted to and to "bring the car home in one piece". The 3J team found a hotel in Wooster for the night then headed east to Mercer on Saurday morning.

Lakeville Speedway 7-17-09: The trip to Lakeville Speedway on Friday would be the first for Kevin and only the second for the 3J team. The 3J team competed at Lakeville Speedway for a special 305 show in 2003 where Scott Miller brought the JD Automotive machine home to a second place finish.

Kevin started 4th in heat #2 and quickly raced his way to the front winning the 8 lapper by a comfortable margin at the finish.

In the nights A-Main Kevin again raced his way towards the front from his 5th place starting position. Lee had caught race leader Aaron Shaffer by the 17th lap and began to work on a way around the 97s. On lap 20 Kevin tried to get beneath Shaffer, to make a lead changing pass, and got too low making contact with one of the large tractor tires that line the infield. The damage suffered from the contact ended the 3J's impressive run for he night. Kevin was scored 8th in the final run down of the nights A-Main.

Mercer Raceway Park 7-18-09: Saturday would find the 3J team at another new track, this time it was a first time visit for Kevin and the entire team. There were 27 cars signed in to compete in the 410 sprint division. Kevin started 4th in the heat race and at the end of lap one, coming out of turn 4, contact from the 43 machine of Rod George damaged the front end on the 3J machine resulting in a last place heat race finish. Relegated to an 8th place start in the B-main, Kevin worked his way forward to take the final transfer spot to the A-main with a 6th place run. Kevin started from the last position (24th) in the A-Main and brought the JD Automotive, NOS Energy Drink, Ace Archery #3J home in the 18th spot.

Kevin and the 3J Motorsports team will be back at it this weekend at Attica Raceway Park on Friday (7-24-09) & Fremont Speedway on Saturday (7-25-09) for another pair of F.A.S.T. Series events.

Kevin sits 8th in the Attica Raceway Park 410 standings, 8th in the 410 standings at Fremont Speedway, and 11th in the F.A.S.T. Series standings. Kevin trails fellow 410 rookie Cap Henry by 50 points in the F.A.S.T. Rookie Standings with 8 F.A.S.T. Series races remaining on the schedule.

Kevin Lee overcomes early difficulties to earn "Zemco Headers Hard Charger" award in feature.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Attica Raceway Park 7-10-09: Kevin Lee and the 3J team started the, "Christmas in July", night at Attica Raceway Park off on the wrong foot beginning with the heat race action. Kevin started 5th in heat #1 and bicycled very bad in turns 1 & 2 on the initial start. Kevin somehow managed to get the car back on all four tires and continue on, but not before losing several spots in the process. Kevin struggled with a very tight race car for the rest of the heat race and brought the JD Automotive #3J home in the seventh position.

The poor heat race result saddled the 3J machine with a 9th place start in the nights B-Main. At the drop of the green flag, in the 10 lap B-Main, Kevin got a strong start and began to pick off cars as he moved towards he front. Needing a 4th place or better finish to transfer to the A-Main, it looked as though Kevin would fall short of his goal as he ran in the 6th position with just 2 laps remaining. However, a "Christmas gift" of sorts would aid Kevin in his efforts, as 4th running Sheldon Haudenschild and 5th running Troy Vaccaro would make contact in turn 3, with the 7t of Vaccaro ending up on it's side. Vaccaro was done for the night, but Haud would continue on through the incident and maintain the 4th spot. On the restart, Kevin powered the NOS Energy Drink #3J beneath the #93 of Haudenschild through turn 1 & 2 and would hang onto the 4th spot to transfer into the A-Main.

Starting from the 20th position in the feature event, Kevin would use the low groove of the race track to do battle with Bryan Sebetto, Jody Keegan, Mike Linder and Andy Shammo. When the first caution flew on lap 12, Kevin was in the 17th spot. Kevin would continue to search for a way around the 4k of Kody Kinser when another caution would come out on lap 14. On the ensuing restart, Kevin would finally power by the 4k machine exiting turn two and take over the 16th spot heading down the back chute, only to have it all for naught, when Kevin made contact with the 53 of John Ivy while trying to get underneath the 53 car in turn 3. Lee and Ivy would both come to a stop at the bottom of turn 3 & 4 with Sebetto also coming to a rest as he tried to avoid the mishap. So it was back to the tail (18th) yet again for the 3J sprinter. On the restart Kevin would chase Ivy again, as the pair worked their way through traffic continuing to use the bottom groove. After another pair of cautions on laps 19 and 27, the action would come to a halt on lap 28 for a Todd Kane flip on the front stretch. Kane was running in the top ten at the time and Kevin narrowly missed getting caught up in the melee. On the restart, Lee would power past Duane Zablocki and hold off a fast closing Mark Keegan, by a whisker, at the finish line to claim a 9th place finish. Lee's 9th place effort earned him the "Zemco Headers Hard Charger Award" for passing the most cars in the A-Main event. It was also Lee's second top ten finish in F.A.S.T. Series competition this season.

Kevin and the 3J team will be back in action tomorrow night at Fremont Speedway for another F.A.S.T. Series event. Stop by the 3J pit and say hello to the whole 3J gang.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #15

Attica Raceway Park 7-3-09: Beautiful weather was in store for the 3J team on fan appreciation night at Attica Raceway Park. At the conclusion of hot laps, the pits were opened up to the fans for about 15-20 minutes or so. Kevin greeted, signed autographs, and took a few photos with fans. When the racing action resumed, Kevin started on the pole of heat #3 and raced his NOS Energy Drink, JD Automotive mount to a win in the 8 lap event. The win qualified Kevin for the nights A-main, and earned him the chance to re-draw for his starting position in the nights final race. Kevin's luck charm "Q" for the night, drew Kevin the 4th starting spot in the feature event. In the A-main, Kevin got off to a quick start and was doing battle with Mark Keegan and Caleb Griffith for the 3rd spot when a red flag flew for Andy Shammo's turn 3 spill. On the ensuing restart, Kevin got a great restart through turns one and two, but the start was called back for a spin by the #48 of Mike Burkin. The following restart was not as pretty, as Kevin bicycled the 3J machine severely in turns one and two. Kevin gathered the car back in, but not until he lost several positions and slid back to 7th place. Kevin held onto that spot until a lap nine red flag for Brandon Martin's exit of turn 4 into the pit area. Martin was ok, and due to the lengthy red to repair the catch fence, the red was made into an open red for teams to work on the cars. On the restart, Kevin pulled a huge wheelie coming out of turn four to take the green. After riding the wheelie past the flag-stand, he was finally able to bring the front end back to earth, but in doing so bent both front shocks. Kevin held on to claim the 11th finishing position at the checkered flag.

Kevin and the team had a late night at the shop, after the Attica racing, to prep the car for an early departure on Saturday morning to participate in the Pit Crew Challenge at Fremont Speedway. The speedway held it's second annual "Salute to the Veterans" event at the speedway from 10AM till race time on Saturday. The 3J Motorsports 410 sprint car was volunteered by owner, Jason Deel, to be used for the special pit crew contest.

Fremont Speedway 7-4-09: Another beautiful day awaited the 3J team at Fremont Speedway. The team would have an early start to the day, as they arrived at the track at 11AM to prepare for the F.A.S.T. Pit Crew Challenge. The 3J team was one of ten to take part in the fun event, and they finished with a time that netted them 5th pace in the event.

When the days activities concluded, all attention turned to the racing action at hand, as Kevin and the team would pull double duty for the 5th time on the season. Doing battle with the 410 car against a great field of F.A.S.T. competitors, and with the 305 car against the, always tough, drivers in the 305 division every week. In the 305 portion of the night, Kevin would start heat number 3 in the 4th spot and finish in the same position, earning a re-draw for the A-main starting position. Starting 5th in the A-main, Kevin sped ahead at the start and waged a battle with DJ Foos and Shawn Valenti for the second spot, while all 3 drivers were chasing eventual race winner Paul Weaver, who had bolted to the lead, from his 4th place starting spot, at the drop of the green flag. Kevin would fade a little at the end of the race and brought the JD Automotive, Papa Jimmies, Bob Lee's Cycle #3J home in the 6th spot.

In the 410 portion of the night, Kevin turned a qualifying lap of 12.97 which held up for 18th quick of the 34 car field, that included many of the area ASCoC teams, which had high tailed it back to Fremont after raining out at around 1PM at Terre Haute in Indiana. Kevin's time earned him a 2nd place start in the 2nd heat race. Kevin ran a strong heat race and finished in 2nd place at the checkers. With Kevin rolling off from the 14th starting spot in the A-main, he would have his work cut out for him to make it to the front of a field loaded with tough competition. Kevin steadily worked his way forward cracking the top ten near the 12th circuit, but the trip forward was short lived, as he began to lose some ground as the laps wound down. Kevin eventually brought the JD Automotive, NOS Energy Drink, Bel-Aire Cleaners, #3J to the checkers in the 14th spot.

After this past weekends racing (7-3,4-09), Kevin remains 7th in the Attica Raceway Park 410 standings, moves up two spots to 9th in the 410 standings at Fremont Speedway, and drops a spot to 11th in the F.A.S.T. Series standings. Kevin trails fellow 410 rookie Cap Henry by just 37 points in the F.A.S.T. Rookie Standings.

Kevin and the 3J Motorsports team will be back at it this weekend at Attica Raceway Park on Friday (7-10-09) & Fremont Speedway on Saturday (7-11-09) for another pair of F.A.S.T. Series events.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #14

Attica Raceway Park 6-25-09: The rescheduled Speedweek date of June 25th at Attica Raceway Park was canceled shortly after qualifying began when mother nature opened the skies and flooded the facility.

Fremont Speedway 6-27-09: Kevin Lee and the 3J Motorsports team were looking forward to competing in the All Star Speedweek finale at Fremont Speedway and the evening began on a positive note, as Kevin would be the 5th car out to take time of the 43 cars in the pits. Going out early is usually better as lap times tend to fall off a bit as qualifying progresses. However, the track was still a touch greasy at the beginning of qualifications, and Kevin recorded a lap of 13.293, which held up for 24th quick, slating the 3J sprinter to start on the pole of the 4th heat race. In the heat race Kevin bolted to the lead and despite a couple caution flags, led wire to wire transferring to the nights A-Main in convincing fashion. Starting 20th in the nights 40 lap main event, Kevin would be on the gas hard from the drop of the green flag. He worked the traffic and had made his way up to the 7th position by the time a lap 37 caution flag had come out. During the caution, Kevin brought the 3J pitside with a brake issue. When the checkers fell, the NOS Energy Drink, JD Automoyive, Ace Archery 3J sprinter was scored with a 20th place finish.

The final finish was a bit of a disappointment, after running so strong all evening long, but the team was very encouraged with the performance on the night as a whole.

Kevin and the 3J motorsports team will be back in action this Friday 7-3-09 at Attica Raceway Park, and Saturday 7-4-09 at Fremont Speedway for a pair of F.A.S.T. Series events. The 3J team will also participate in the Pit Crew Challenge at Fremont Speedway on Saturday. The event runs from 11AM thru 3PM. There are a lot of other activities and attractions going on all day at the Speedway/Fairgrounds, so stop on out and visit. All proceeds from the day will be donated to several military charities. (Green Springs, Ohio) Attica Raceway Park 6-25-09: Mother nature continued to insist that Attica Raceway would not have a Speedweek show in 2009, as heavy rains fell at around 6:30 with 46 410 sprint cars in the pits.

The 3J Motorsports team will try again Saturday 6-27-09 at Fremont Speedway, for the Speedweek finale.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #13

Jed's BBQ & Brew 6-21-09: The 3J team started a busy day by loading up the 305 and the 410 cars and headed west towards Findlay, OH to compete in both divisions at Millstream Speedway on night #2 of the Ohio Sprint Speedweek. The team would first make a stop on Findlay's east side to make an appearance at Jed's BBQ & Brew. Jed's is a marketing partner with the team for the 2009 season. We unloaded and displayed the cars in front of the store between the hours of Noon and 2PM. Kevin greeted some fans and gave away some souvenirs. The whole team was also treated to some of the fine food that Jed's is well known for. At 2PM the team loaded up the cars and continued westward to the speedway.

Millstream Speedway 6-21-09: On a hot and sunny fathers day, the team was one of the first dozen or so to arrive at the track. The pits would quickly fill up with sprinter after sprinter until the final tally reached (60) 410 & (24) 305 sprinters. Quite a sight to see that many sprint cars all in one place at one time. A beautiful sight to say the least.

In the 410 portion of the evening, Kevin drew another high number and was slated to be the 59th of 60 cars to take his qualifying lap. He ended up actually being the 55th of 56 cars that actually attempted a qualifying lap. His lap of 15.561 was 45th quick, missing the magical 44th or better spot, needed to lock into a heat race, by one position. This result would have Kevin slated to start on the pole of the last chance race. In the last chance race, Kevin finished 3rd behind race winner John Ivy and second place Kory Crabtree, in the 8 lap race. This put him on the tail (12th) of the third heat race. Starting in the 12th position of heat #3, Kevin gained only one spot in finishing 11th at the conclusion of the 8 lap event. By not transferring to the A-Main via the heat race, Kevin's qualifying time then placed him into the C-Main. Scheduled to start 7th in the C-Main, he would actually start in the 5th position, due to a number of cars not making the call for the C-Main. In the 12 lap C-Main, Kevin would run in the 5th and 6th spots for much of the race, losing a spot on the last lap that found him finishing 7th, and done for the evening in the 410 portion of the night.

In the 305 portion of the night things went a little bit better for the 3J team. With again drawing a high number for his heat race starting position, Kevin would start 6th in the third and final 305 heat race. Kevin wasted little time in advancing the JD Automotive #3J to the 3rd position, where he finished behind race winner Zack Kramer and second place John Ivy (who was also pulling double duty). With the top 4 finishers in each of the heat races getting to redraw to determine their A-Main starting spot, Kevin drew a #2 and would start outside the front row for the feature event. At the start Kevin and pole sitter Shawn Valenti paced the field to the green, where 3rd starting Todd Heuerman would use a huge jump at the start to shoot past both of the front row starters. Kevin was soon in tow, solidly into second place. As Kevin began to gain a little ground on the 18 machine of Heuerman a caution would fly. On the restart, the 3J sprinter just did not want to take off very quick, and the 18 machine would execute the restart like a scared rabbit. A few more cautions and with each one the 3J machine just did not have the jump to get going very quickly, and it cost Kevin a spot on each restart. Kevin would run hard all race long and bring the 3J sprinter home in the 5th spot, after losing the 4th spot on the last turn of the last lap, to a hard charging Chad Wilson who used the extreme bottom of the race surface to perfection in coming from his 17th starting position.

The 3J team will be back in action this Thursday 6-25-09 at Attica Raceway Park for night #6 of the 2009 All Star Sprint Speedweek, which is actually the rescheduled date for the opener that was rained out at Attica last Friday night, then on Saturday 6-27-09, the 3J team will compete at Fremont Speedway in the Speedweek finale.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #12

Attica Raceway Park 6-12-09: The 3J team was put to work early in the evening at Attica this week. Kevin brought the 3J sprinter to a rest on the backstretch at the conclusion of his hot lap session. When he finally got a push back to the pits, the team found that the torque tube had been damaged and needed to be replaced. The crew went to work and finished putting the new tube in just in time for Kevin to make his 5th place start in the 3rd and final heat of the night. Kevin labored to a 7th place finish in the heat event, relegating him to the B-Main. In the B-Main, Kevin advanced 1 position, from his 6th place start, and brought the NOS Energy drink 3J home in the 5th and final transfer spot, earning him a 20th place start in the nights feature event. Starting from the last spot in the feature, Kevin worked his way through the field using the top and bottom grooves of the track to get through the traffic. As he made a move to advance into the 9th position, a caution came out negating the last two passes that he had made for position. Restarting 13th, Kevin would race hard to the finish, on the very fast and racy track surface, bringing the JD Automotive, NOS Energy Drink, Jed's BBQ & Brew, #3J home in the 11th finishing position.

After the 410 feature was completed, whichever youngster had the card containing the number that coincided with Kevin's finishing position in the race, won a prize package from team 3J. The prize consisted of a photo album with several photos of both the 305 and 410 car 3J sprint cars; gift certificates to Wendy's Restaurant for Frosty's; NOS decals; NOS Visor/Cap; and frisbees. All of the kids were encouraged to come down to the pits after the races and get their card signed by Kevin.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #11

Attica Raceway Park (6-5-09) Points night # 7 for the F.A.S.T. Series at Attica Raceway Park saw a field of 24, 410 sprint cars in the pits. The 3J crew drew the high pill on the evening and started on the tail (8th) in the 3rd heat race. Kevin could not manage to get anywhere in the heat race and finished in the 8th position. The crew went to work on the car, making changes to prepare for the B-Main. In the B-Main, Kevin started on the tail once again (9th), he worked his way through the field to nab the last transfer spot (5th) into the nights Main event. The team once again went to work on the car to get it better for the A-Main. Kevin started from the tail (20th), yet again. At the drop of the green, Kevin bolted towards the front, nearing the 10th spot within the first two laps. Kevin ran in and around the 10th position for the middle portion of the race, falling off the pace a little towards the end of the race, bringing the JD Automotive, NOS Eneregy Drink, Jeds BBQ & Brew, Ace Archery # 3J home in the 13th position.

Fremont Speedway (6-6-09) Saturday night would find the 3J team headed to Fremont Speedway for F.A.S.T. points night #8 in the 410 car. The team also loaded the 305 car up to pull double duty for the 3rd time this season at the 1/3 mile clay oval. The evenings racing was highlighted by the inaugural induction of members into the newly founded Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame. Induction ceremonies took place earlier in the day at the historic covered grand stands.

In the 305 portion of the evening, Kevin would start 5th in the 2nd heat race. Kevin worked his way forward 1 spot to finish 4th, and secure one of the 5 transfer spots into the nights feature event. Starting from the 7th position in the A-Main, Kevin got faster as the non-stop event went on. Getting to the 4th spot fairly early, then doing battle with Paul Weaver for several laps before finally clearing the 1W machine of Weaver. He then set his sights on the 94 sprinter of John Ivy. Ivy and Kevin were both gaining on race leader Bobby Clark in the closing laps. Kevin rode on Ivy's rear bumper to the checkers, finishing 3rd behind race winner Clark and 2nd place Ivy.

In the 410 portion of the evening, Kevin was the 26th, of 26 cars, to take his qualifying lap. Kevin put the NOS Energy Drink  #3J in the 7th fast qualifying position just .02 of a second behind Kenny Jacobs, who earned $600.00 for his sixth place time. The $600.00 qualifying bonus was put up by the family of Dick Liskai. Kevin's time placed him starting 4th in heat #1, where he finished in the 3rd position, transferring into the nights A-Main. Kevin would start the A-Main from the outside of the front row. Running in the top 5 for much of the race, Kevin searched high and low for the fastest way around the very racy and fast race surface. Kevin lost a few spots on a lap 22 restart and then a couple more on a lap 25 restart. Kevin managed to fight back in the last couple laps to bring the JD Automotive, NOS Energy Drink, Day Construction, Bob Lee's Cycle, Humbert Trucking #3J home the 10th position.

Another highlight of the evening at Fremont Speedway, was awarding a couple of prize packages to two youngsters. Before racing activities began, Kevin and crew member Kurt Humbert, made their way through the stands and concession areas handing out some of Kevin's autograph cards. These cards were special though, as each card had a number on it, 1 thru 20. After each, the 305 & 410, features were completed, whichever youngster had the card containing the number that coincided with Kevin's finishing position in each race, won a prize package from team 3J. The prizes consisted of a photo album with an 8X10 of the 3J  410 sprinter; several smaller photos of both the 305 and 410 car; a gift certificate to PaPa Jimmies BBQ & Pizza in Green Springs, OH; NOS decals; NOS Visor/Cap; and a Kevin Lee / 3J Motorsports T-Shirt. All of the kids were encouraged to come down to the pits after the races and get their card signed by Kevin. I think most all of them did so, as quite a crowd was on hand as soon as the pit gates were opened up following the final race of the night. Thanks to all the young fans and their parents that participated in this fun promotion. Keep an eye on www.3jmotorsports.com for future give a ways of a similar nature. Be sure to check the fan section, within the 3J Motorsports website, for updated post race pictures with the fans.

The prize packages will include sponsor supplied items such as hats, photos, gift certificates, etc... , as well as a photo with Kevin, to appear on 3JMotorsports.com in the Fan Section. As always, all fans are welcomed to stop down to the 3J pit, after the races are over, to meet Kevin and the crew, have a seat in the 3J racecar, or just shoot the breeze. (Green Springs, Ohio) Week #10

Wayne County Speedway (5-30-09)  Friday evening the team decided to change the scheduled plans, to run Fremont with the 305 car, and instead head east to Wayne County Speedway to get some laps in, at a new track for the team, with the 410 car. Due to putting up a slow time in hot laps, Kevin started on the tail (7th) in the first heat and worked his way to the front to win heat #1. Starting 7th in the feature event, Kevin again worked his way forward and took the checkers in the 3rd finishing position.

For the teams first visit to the Wayne County Speedway they came away feeling pretty good with the effort for the night. The team feels that due to the unique, paperclip shaped, configuration of WCS, that they hit on a few things that may help back home at Attica and Fremont Speedways.

The 3J Motorsports will be back in action next Friday, June 5th, at Attica Raceway Park, and Saturday June 6th, at Fremont Speedway for a pair of F.A.S.T. Series events. Please stop down to the 3J pit after the races to say hello to Kevin and the rest of the 3J team.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #10

Attica Raceway Park (5-29-09) Kevin and the 3J team unloaded at Attica Raceway Park to do battle with the stars of the World of Outlaws for the first time in the young 410 teams career. A large crowd was on hand to watch the Outlaws in their only visit to Attica during the 2009 season.

Kevin was the 18th car to take time, and clocked in at 12.758 which would end up being 26th quick of the 43 car field. In his heat race Kevin started in the 7th spot and held steady for the first half of the race, then slipped back to a 9th place finish at the checkers. Nines were wild for the 3J team on the night, as after a 9th place showing in the heat race, Kevin started and ultimately finished in the 9th spot in the B-Main as well.

Not exactly the result that team was looking for on the evening, but the team continues to learn more each week, and Kevin gains valuable seat time in the 410 car each week.

The 3J Motorsports team has changed it's original plans, to race in the 305 division at Fremont on Saturday, and is instead heading east to Wayne County Speedway to race the 410 car. Be sure to stop by the 3J pit area after the races to visit Kevin and the team.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #9

With great racing weather for the second night in a row, the 3J team loaded up both the 410 & 305 cars to do battle at Fremont Speedway on Saturday evening. The 410 portion of the event was the first appearance of the All Star Circuit of Champions at Fremont Speedway in the 2009.

The night started off rough, with another high pill draw number that would have Kevin scheduled to go out 31st of 39 cars to run his qualifying laps. Kevin's best lap of the two stopped the clock with a time of 13.199, which placed him at 32nd in the final qualifying results. Starting 8th in the 4th heat race, Kevin worked his way up to do battle with Cap Henry for the final transfer position. Kevin moved around the track searching for a line to clear Henry, but fell short of the task at the checkers, finishing 6th in the 9 car field. Starting the 15 lap B-Main from the 12th spot, Kevin had a great start that was nullified by caution without a lap in the books. The second attempt at starting the race saw Kevin get another good start, but it too was called back. On the third attempt, the green stayed out and Kevin started to work his way forward, getting up to the 6th spot just a few laps into the race. Then disaster struck, as Craig Keel got crossed up in turn 3 and flipped his 20x machine right in front of Kevin. Kevin slid the car sideways in an attempt to miss Keels turned over car, but came to a stop after just tapping the 20x machine. Kevin was able to restart the race, but had to go to the tail (18th) as a result of coming to a stop on the track.  When racing resumed, Kevin started working forward again and was back into his original 12th place starting position within a few laps, he was able to get by one more car before the checkers flew, earning him an 11th place finish, but missing transferring to the 410 A-Main.

The evening started off a bit better with the 305 car. A better pill draw put the 3J in the second starting spot of the first heat race. Kevin set sail from the drop of the green, and led wire to wire in the 8 lap affair, to transfer to the A-Main. In the A-Main, Kevin started in the 12th position. Steadily passing cars, he worked his way up to the 5th spot before the 3J's handling began to go sour, causing Kevin to slip back to 10th over the last 5 or 6 laps of the event.

The 3J Motorsports team will be in action at Attica Raceway Park next Friday 5-29-09 for the World of Outlaws show, and on Saturday 5-30-09 at Fremont Speedway with the 305 car, as the 410's have the week off at Fremont this week. (Green Springs, Ohio) Week #9

With the 410 division having the week off at Attica Raceway this weekend, Kevin and the team loaded up the 305 car to get some racing in on Friday night. The major 305 division race scheduled for the evening was tabbed as the "Engine Builders Challenge" and paid a $1200 check to the winner. "Mouse" drew a good pill # which slated Kevin to start on the pole of the second heat race. Kevin led the heat from start to finish, which qualified him for one of the two dash races. Starting last (6th) in the first of two dashes, Kevin worked his way up to the 4th finishing position. This would place the 3J sprinter in the 7th starting slot for the A-Main event. Kevin had the car sailing up on the cushion in the first half of the race. As the race laps wound down, Kevin moved around the track, searching for more speed, and to navigate lapped traffic, as he raced his way into the 3rd finishing position. Kevin had caught the 2nd place machine of Todd Heuerman, but could not find a way around the 18 machine, and held on to a strong 3rd place showing behind Heuerman and Bryan Sebetto, who won the race.

The 3J Motorsports team will be in action at Fremont Speedway tonight, 5-23-09, Racing in both the 305 division and in the 410 division with the All Star Circuit of Champions. (Green Springs, Ohio) Week #8

Attica Raceway Park (5-15-09) A stout field of 36 cars were in the pits, in the 410 division, on a breezy Friday evening for the 5th scheduled race in the F.A.S.T. Series of events. The 3J team struggled, yet again, in the heat race action, starting last in the first heat and finishing in 8th place. Kevin would then start 13th in the B-Main working his way up to sixth place, at one point, then falling back to a ninth place finish in the last couple laps.

Fremont Speedway (5-16-09) RAIN would steal the show at Fremont Speedway on Saturday night. It was to be night #6 of the F.A.S.T. Series events, and the 5th night of racing for Fremont Speedway this 2009 season.

The 3J team will be back in action this Friday 5-22-09 at Attica Raceway Park for the 305 Engine builders challenge & Saturday 5-23-09 at Fremont Speedway for the first 2009 visit of the All Star Circuit of Champions. Stop by the 3J pit and visit us after the races.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #7:

Attica Raceway Park (5-8-09) With the 410 division having the night off at Attica this week, the team decided to load up the 305 car and get a little racing in this Friday. The night started off on the rough side, as the engine didn’t want to run right during hot laps. After a hurried effort by the team with help from Scott Gressman, they got the fuel system problem repaired just in time to make the scheduled 2nd heat race. Kevin started 2nd and finished in the same position to transfer to the A-Main event. In the A-Main, Kevin would start from the 12th slot and would make it up to a 6th  place showing in the nights final race. All in all a decent night for the first night out with the 305 car this season.

Fremont Speedway (5-9-09) Saturday night at Fremont would prove to be a very busy night as the team would be fielding two cars for the event. Late Friday night, the decision was made that both the 410 and 305 3J machines would participate at Fremont on Saturday. The team loaded up both cars and headed to Fremont a little on the shorthanded side, as a few crew members were absent for the evening.

In the 305 portion of the evening, Kevin and the crew worked to get the car better each time it hit the track. Kevin missed the transfer to the A-Main via his heat race by one spot as he finished in the 6th spot after starting 6th. A lot of changes were made to the car before the B-Main, and the changes helped as Kevin brought the 3J home in the 2nd spot after starting in 3rd. In the A-Main, Kevin started 17th and ran up to a 10th place finish.

In the 410 portion of the evening, Kevin was the 12th car of 25 to take time, and turned the 4th quick lap at the time. His qualifying lap held up for 5th quick at the conclusion of qualifications. Starting 5th in the 2nd heat race, Kevin battled Andy Shammo for the 5th and final transfer spot, but came up short as he faded a bit at the end of the race. The crew went to work on the car and got it better for the B-Main, which Kevin won from his pole starting position. The transfer to the A-Main would slate Kevin to start 7th in the nights final event. On the initial start, Kevin bicycled really bad in turns one and two, and lost several positions during the mishap. After gathering the car back in, Kevin maintained his spot, but could not seem to make any headway on the cars ahead of him. About 10 laps into the race Kevin started to find his groove and the car seemed to come to the track a bit. He didn’t lose anymore ground, but didn’t advance up the running order either. When the leaders, Linder and Mayes, caught up to Kevin, he ran just ahead of them for several laps and never fell too far behind either of them, once they finally cleared the 3J.  Kevin brought the 3J sprinter home in the 16th finishing position.

Kevin and the team continue to learn more each week and look for improved results with each week of experience gained in the competitive 410 division at Attica Raceway Park & Fremont Speedway.

The 3J team will be back in action this Friday 5-15-09 at Attica Raceway Park & Saturday 5-16-09 at Fremont Speedway for another weekend of F.A.S.T. Series events. Stop by the 3J pit and visit us after the races.

After this past weekends racing, Kevin remains 11th in the Attica raceway Park 410 standings, 15th in the 410 standings at Fremont Speedway, and remains 16th in the F.A.S.T. standings.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #6: Fremont Speedway. Mother nature finally called off the rain, the temps were a bit cooler than last weekend, but none the less, the 3J team was ready to roll on Saturday night for Fremont Speedways 3rd week of racing this season, and the 4th F.A.S.T. Series event of 2009. Kevin was the 27th of 35 cars to take time, and he qualified 14th quick. Starting 3rd in the 2nd heat race, Kevin slipped back a few spots on the start, but came back forward to finish 5th, one spot out of a transfer to the evenings A-main event. Kevin started the B-main in the 7th position, slipped back a couple spots on the start, then worked his way back up to the fourth and final transfer spot. He would however, miss the transfer to the A-main by one spot after Mike Linder pulled a slider in turns 3 and 4 on the final lap. The slider stuck, and Kevin lost enough momentum that he couldn't drive back by Linder on the inside, bringing the 3J home in 5th position. The evening was disappointing in that the team failed to make the A-main, but the team continues to work hard and is determined to improve it's performance each week.

After this past weekends events, Kevin remains 12th in the 410 point standings at Attica Raceway Park, slips two spots to 16th in the 410 standings at Fremont Speedway, is tied at 16th in the F.A.S.T. Standings, and remains 2nd in the F.A.S.T. Rookie of the year standings.

Kevin and the 3J Motorsports team will be back in action next Friday at Attica Raceway Park with the 305 car, and then on Saturday at Fremont Speedway with the 410 car. Please be sure to stop down to our pit area, after the races, and meet Kevin and the rest of the team.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #5: Attica Raceway Park. Friday night 4-24-09, F.A.S.T. Event. Warm, mostly sunny, weather was the order of the day. Coupled with high winds throughout the day, the racing surface proved to be very dry for the evenings racing. Kevin would start 4th in the 3rd heat race, he struggled with the car having very little forward bite and finished 7th, placing him in the B-Main. In the B-Main, Kevin started in the 6th spot and managed to climb to a 4th place finish, which would put him in the A-Mains 19th starting position. In the A-Main event, which was slowed only by a lap 24 caution, Kevin would bring the 3J Motorsports entry home in 18th place. Passing was at a premium for the most part, as early race leader, Chad Kemenah, never caught the tail of the field until lap 20.

Fremont Speedway. Saturday night 4-26-09, F.A.S.T. Event. Warm, sunny, and windy weather conditions made for another fairly dry racing surface. Kevin was the last car to take time and qualified 23rd in the 34 car field. Starting on the pole of the 3rd heat, Kevin managed a 4th place finish, which qualified him to start 18th in the A-Main event. Kevin finished 19th in the evenings final event.

After this past weekends events, Kevin sits 12th in the 410 point standings at Attica Raceway Park, 14th in the 410 standings at Fremont Speedway, 17th in the F.A.S.T. Standings, and 2nd in the F.A.S.T. Rookie of the year standings.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #4: Fremont Speedway. Beautiful weather greeted race teams and fans alike on a perfect evening for Fremont Speedways 58th season opener. The night started out on a high note for Kevin and the 3J team as Kevin was the 18th car to take time out of the 31 cars present. Kevin clocked a time of 12.40, that was 2nd quick on the night to Dale Blaney, who was fast qualifier with a time of 12.27. Kevin then started 6th in the second heat race and only managed a 5th place finish which kept him from transferring to the A-main via his heat race. It would however put him on the pole for the B-main event. Kevin looked very strong in taking a very convincing win in he B-main. Kevin would start 9th in the feature event and he struggled to wheel his tight handling 3J sprinter to bring home a 14th place feature finish.

"We had a great handling car in the B-Main and (we) just went a bit too far with the adjustments chasing a track that didn't change as much as we anticipated for the feature" stated Kevin in a post race interview. Kevin achieved one goal, which was getting some more quality laps in the 410 sprinter, and the team looks to improve on it's performance in the upcoming weeks.

All in all the night was quite successful, with Kevin qualifying 2nd quick and getting valuable laps in the B-main and in the feature event.

The 3J Motorsports team will be back in action next Friday and Saturday at Attica & Fremont to kick off the inaugural weekend of the F.A.S.T. series events. Please be sure to stop down to our pit area, after the races, and meet Kevin and the rest of the team.

( Green Springs, Ohio) Week #3. (Attica Raceway Park 4-11-09) It was a long cold evening for the 3J team this week. Kevin was the 51st of 52 cars to take his qualifying lap. The track was not very suitable to qualify well at that point, and Kevin registered a lap of 13.653 which placed him 43rd in the field. Starting 11th in the third heat, Kevin managed a 9th place finish, which placed him starting 9th in the C-Main event. In the C-Main, Kevin got tangled up in an accident that happened in front of him on the track. He was able to restart at the rear of the field and managed to work his way up to a 6th place finish in the 10 lap event.

The team will make the necessary repairs to the damage suffered in the C-Main this week and be ready for the Fremont Speedway season opener next Saturday April 18th. See you there. Follow the 3J team at www.3jmotorsports.com .

(Green Springs, Ohio) Week #2 is in the books for the 3J Motorsports team. (Attica Raceway Park 4-4-09) Kevin drew a very poor starting position (9th) in the first heat race, against a very stout field of race cars. Kevin ran pretty good, but couldn't advance any further than his 7th place finishing position. That was, however, good enough to keep him out of the C-Main and earn him a another ninth place start in the B-Main. The B-Main proved to be quite interesting for Kevin. As he tried to avoid a multi-car pile up in turn 4, he cut through the infield to take an evasive action, and upon doing so, found himself splashing through a large mud hole. The result was a quick change in color for the 3J machine, from white to brown. Kevin Didn't lose any ground, but found it difficult to make up any ground either, and finished the B-Main in the number 8 position.

The 3J Motorsports team will be back in action next Friday and Saturday at Attica Raceway Park for the Spring Nationals All Star shows. Follow the team at www.3jmotorsports.com .

Jim Ford, former Fremont Speedway racer, car owner, promoter passes away
Sunday, March 29, 2009
Contact: Brian Liskai
liskai2x@cros.net
ELMORE, Ohio - Racing and Fremont Speedway have been in Jim Ford's blood his entire adult life. He drove race cars, owned race cars and even promoted "The Track That Action Built." Now the racing community is mourning the loss of this Northwest Ohio racing icon.
Jim Ford passed away at his Elmore, Ohio home surrounded by his family on Saturday morning, March 28, after a courageous fight against cancer. He was 73 - his 74th birthday just a few days away on April 1.
Ford leaves behind his loving wife, Joanne; daughters, Becky (Bob) Kayden and Vicki Ford; sons, Doug and Randy (Deb); and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews and an entire racing community who respected and admired him.
Jim Ford began racing modifieds at Fremont Speedway in 1954. From 1954 through 1963, he drove for three different car owners including the Meyers A-Station ride, Marv Mock in the M&M car and the Burmeister #16. In 1964 he purchased his own race car and continued to race until 1971. His biggest victory came during the Fremont Speedway fair race in 1968 - at that time
one of the biggest racing events in Ohio.
Jim hung up his helmet in 1972 and became a sprint car owner. From 1972 through 1986, Jim Ford owned sprint cars won over 60 features including a World of Outlaw victory at Eldora with his son, Randy, behind the wheel, and All Star Circuit of Champion wins. Ford's cars won track championships at Atomic Speedway (now K-C Raceway) in Chillicothe, Ohio; Eldora Speedway and Fremont Speedway.
The drivers who piloted Jim Ford's sprint cars reads like a "who's who" in racing: Rick Ferkel, Bill Cicanese, Tim Dussel, J.D. Lease, Jim Linder, Al Daugherty, Jim Darley Sr., Al Beale, Johnny Beaber and Randy Ford.
But perhaps Jim Ford's greatest racing legacy happened in 2000. The historical Fremont Speedway in the Sandusky County Fairgrounds - which opened 58 years ago - was in danger of closing. Ford put together a business plan to bring "The Track That Action Built" back to life. He promoted racing at Fremont Speedway through 2007, making many, many improvements to the facility including new lighting, soft-wall safety technology, new restrooms and bigger weekly purses. He created the dirt truck division to give drivers a more affordable entry level into dirt track racing.
However, if you asked Jim Ford his greatest accomplishment it would be his family. They were all involved with the race cars he drove and owned and when he took over the promotion of Fremont Speedway, every family member was involved from the ticket booth to the concession stand to track preparations to race procedures.
Visitation for Jim Ford will be held Tuesday, March 31, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Crosser Funeral Home, 451 Rice St., Elmore, Ohio 43416. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 1, at 11 a.m.at the Grace Lutheran Church on St. Rt. 51, north of Elmore.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to the Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund; Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the Harris-Elmore EMS; or Racers Racing For the Cure, 1040 Cleveland Ave., Fremont, Ohio 43420.

(Green Springs, Ohio) Race #1 of the 2009 season is in the books for the 3J Motorsports team. The first night of racing was filled with ups and downs, but ended on an up note, with Kevin placing 10th in the nights A-Main event.

After working through some opening night glitches during hot laps and heat race events, the team rebounded by winning the B-Main and then crossing the finish line in 10th place after starting 17th in the nights feature event. There was a lot of attrition in the feature event, and the 3J team endured to bring home a top ten finish in the teams first 410 race of the 2009 season.

Kevin & the 3J Motorsports team gained valuable experience in the opener, and hope to improve their performance next weekend at Attica Raceway Park.

Green Springs, Ohio

(Excerpts taken from Fremont Speedway race reports)

News Article Excerpts From The 2008 Season:

-The rest of the top 10 in the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints were:
2nd - Kevin Lee, Green Springs, Ohio. Lee made it an exciting championship race as it came down to the last night before mechanical woes cost him the title by just 16points. Lee competed in 13 of the 16 A-mains, missing only opening night, the 305-360 challenge and the non-wing race. He recorded 10 top 10 finishes and a remarkable 9 top five runs. He picked up a win on Sept. 6 and added 4 third place runs. His average A-main finishing position was 6th.”

-“In the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 sprints, Kevin Lee became the 14th  different feature winner in 14 A-mains in 2008 at Fremont Speedway. His win tightens the championship race at Fremont for the 305 sprints. Lee came in 14 points behind Stuart Brubaker who flipped in his heat, brought a back-up car out for the B and failed to transfer. However, Benny Bowman allowed Brubaker to drive his A-main qualified car in the feature where he came from the tail to finish ninth.

-"Finally...we got a little luck and were there to take advantage of it,"  said Lee, who was running a distant second to leader Steve Rando when his  left front wheel broke at the half-way mark of the feature. "The car was just great tonight, especially on longer runs," continued Lee in the Engine Pro Victory Lane beside his JD Automotive, Papa Jimmy's Pizza, Humbert Trucking backed sprint car. "This really helps us in the championship hunt...we just need to stay consistent."

-“Heuerman made his winning move on the ensuing restart. Kramer would get around Kraylek for second on lap 19. The car on the move was Kevin Lee, who moved from his 14th starting spot to fourth by lap 19. He and Kraylek battled the next 10 laps for third before Lee would take the position on the white flag. At the checkered it was Heuerman, Kramer, Lee, Kraylek and Steve Rando rounding out the top five. Lee earned a new crankshaft from Callie's Performance as the race hard-charger gaining 11 positions in the feature event.”
