tens for Kevin Lee

(Green Springs, OH) Kevin Lee and the 3J Team had a fairly
good weekend as Kevin had a pair of top ten finishes.
Attica Raceway Park 7-23-10: Kevin started 5th in the
second heat. On the initial start Kevin pulled a huge wheelie and lost a bunch
of ground coming out of turn 2. The race went green to checker without a caution
and Kevin only made it back up to 6th place which was one spot short of a
transfer to the A-main. He would then start 3rd in the B-main and race to a 2nd
place finish transferring to the A-Main. In the A-Main, Kevin would roll off
17th and work his way forward to a 10th place finish at the conclusion of the 30
lap event.
Fremont Speedway 7-24-10: Kevin qualified 11th in the
20 car field with a lap of 13.64 . Starting from the 3rd position in heat 2,
Kevin finished 4th. Kevin would then start 13th in the feature and drive a very
good race on a very tricky and rough racing surface, to finish 7th in the 30
lapper.
Kevin remains 8th in the Attica
Raceway Park point standings, 4th in the Fremont Speedway point standings and
4th in the Kistler Racing Products FAST Series point standings.
Next up for Kevin and the 3J team will
be a pair of Kistler Racing Products FAST Series
events. The first at Attica Raceway Park on Friday July 30th and the second at
Fremont Speedway on Saturday July 31st.

struggles on night 14 of FAST competition

(Green Springs, OH) Mother nature claimed the racing action
at Attica Raceway Park on Friday July 9th. Saturday July 10th found the 3J team
at Fremont Speedway for night #14 of Kistler Racing Products FAST Series
competition.
Kevin and the team had their struggles at Fremont but managed
to salvage making yet another feature event and staying in the top 5 of Kistler
Racing Products FAST Series point standings.
The night at Fremont started off poorly with an unusually
poor qualifying run for Kevin, where he ended up 21st in the field of 29 with a
time of 13.45 . Kevin would start 7th in heat 3. Shortly after the start of the
heat race Kevin would tip over while trying to avoid an incident between Jody
Keegan and Caleb Helms. He was able to restart at the rear of the heat. Kevin
drag raced Mike Linder to the checkers for the 5th and final transfer spot, but
came up a tad short relegating him to the B-Main. In the B-Main Kevin started
7th and raced his way to a 3rd place finish earning a berth in the nights
A-Main. Kevin started 19th in the feature event and ended up bringing his JD
Automotive, PaPa Jimmies BBQ & Pizza, Leafy Oaks Campground #3j home in the 18th
spot.
After a wash out at Attica Kevin remains 8th in the Attica
Raceway Park point standings, he also holds onto 4th in the Fremont Speedway point standings and
falls one spot to 4th place in the Kistler Racing Products FAST Series point standings.
After having next weekend off, Kevin and the 3J team will
next be in action at a pair of Kistler Racing Products FAST Series
events. The first at Attica Raceway Park on Friday July 23rd and the second at
Fremont Speedway on Saturday July 24th.

Speedweek performance big for Green
Springs' Lee
BY KEVIN SHIELDS •
Sports writer • July 10, 2010
FREMONT -- If Green Springs native Kevin Lee goes
on to become one of the great 410 sprint car drivers at the Fremont
Speedway, he might owe a night in Lima to his nickname catching fire
amongst the fans.Lee, who is racing his
second full-time 410 schedule after racing six years in the local
305 division, has been one the 410 division's most consistent
drivers in 2010. He has four top five finishes at "The Track That
Action Built," including a pair during this past Saturday's double
features.
But it was his recent performance in the 28th
annual Ohio Sprint Speedweek that got race fans to take notice --
even the drivers.
Lee, a 2002 Clyde High School graduate, was
the top finishing Fremont/Attica Sprint Title driver in the Ohio
Speedweek points title standings. He competed in all nine events
during the nine-day event that zig-zagged across Ohio, finishing
12th to beat out Byron Reed by 71 points. In the process, he
collected a $500 dollar bonus check from FAST in the event won by
All Star Circuit of Champions driver David Gravel.
It was his race at the Limaland Motorsports
Park on June 25 however, where he earned his new nickname -- one
that will make him synonymous from now on with his hometown.
After an on-track confrontation with another
driver got him kicked out of the track during a heat race, the other
drivers started to refer to the normally laid-back Lee as the "Sulfer
City Outlaw." Green Springs is famous for having the world's largest
natural sulfur springs.
"It's neat I guess," Lee joked. "It gets my
hometown in there."
For Lee, who normally races on Friday at
Attica and Saturday at Fremont, the nine-day event presented many
challenges he and his car owner Jason Deel weren't use to facing.
Still he made all but two of the nine feature races, capping the
week with an 11th place finish at Fremont on June 26.
"The whole week was just an awesome
experience," Lee said. "When you race day after day you can learn a
lot about the car and it helped a lot with the communication on our
team. It was different tracks and different setups each night, so
the communication between me and Jason was key in letting him know
what to do to make the right adjustments."
Lee followed his Speedweek run with a sixth
place finish at Attica this past Friday, before finishing fifth in
the first of two 410 features at Fremont on Saturday. He led a
majority of the second 410 feature and looked to be on way to his
first-ever win the 410 division, but came up short at the end.
After leading laps 6-17, Lee was passed by
eventual race winner Chris Andrews with 12 laps remaining as he held
on to finish third.
"That was definitely an awesome feeling," Lee
said of running up front. "I didn't know what to do at first when I
was running second to Brandon Wimmer. They say sometimes it's better
to run second and pass late. I passed him and got a big lead, but
the track got away from me.
"I wanted to win more than anything, but we
started slipping and the guys at the bottom of the track started to
really come on."
Lee is a three-time winner in the 305
division, winning twice at Fremont and once at Attica. In 2007 and
2008 he finished second in points in the 305 series at Fremont -- a
series he got a start in when his dad Kevin Lee Sr. was injured
prior to the start of the 2004 season.
"My dad used to race and he was trying to get
a car together for himself," the younger Lee said. "When he blew his
knees out working on the car it worked out I could race instead."
The elder Lee and his wife Velma Renfro
supported his son's 305 car from 2004 through 2007. Lee Jr. won the
2004 Rookie of the Year award for the 305 series at Fremont.
That success came despite the 2004 season
being the first time the younger Lee was behind the wheel of a race
car.
"The only practice I got was running races,"
Lee Jr. said. "It took us awhile to finally make a show, then
finally we got in a groove and things just started to come on from
there."
Prior to his runs in the 305 series, Lee Jr.
helped some buddies of his by serving as a pit crew member. But the
former Flier football player (1999-2002) and his family ran out of
race money in 2007, paving the way for Deel to come along and give
Lee Jr. the team he needed to compete at the highest level.
The two paired to run three 410 shows in 08
and then in 2009 they ran a full 410 schedule and 10 shows in the
305 division. This season Lee Jr. is focusing strictly on the 410
division where he is currently eighth in the Attica Raceway
standings, fourth in the Fremont 410 standings and third in the race
for the FAST Kistler Cup.
"Our main goal is to keep working on our
Fremont and Attica track standing and win a FAST title," Lee Jr.
said. "That new series has been great for low budget teams like
ours."
And what's in the future for the "Sulfer City
Outlaw?"
"I'd love to eventually have the money to go
racing all-around the area like some of these big name drives do,
but all our goals and plans are stay around here and run at Fremont
and Attica," Lee Jr. said. "It's really tough and competitive racing
around here and it's always going to be fun to be apart of."

Kevin Lee
has strong 3 race weekend

(Green Springs, OH) Kevin Lee and the 3J team had a strong 3
race weekend at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway. As advertised, there
were plenty of fireworks on the track over the Independence Day weekend. Kevin
and the team were fresh off the 9 night All Star Speedweek schedule and ready to
do battle in three Kistler Racing Products Fast Series events. The first at ARP
on Friday July 2nd and the a pair at Fremont Speedway on Saturday July 3rd, the
regular show for this date plus a make-up A-main from the washed out June 12th
FAST show at Fremont Speedway.
Attica Raceway Park: 7/2/2010 A high pill draw number
found Kevin starting 8th in heat race number 2. The heats did not produce a lot
of passing. Kevin finished his heat right where he started, in 8th place,
relegating his 3J machine to the B-main. In the B-main, Kevin started from the
8th spot and worked his way forward to a 4th place finish earning one of the 5
transfer spots into the nights main event. In the A-main Kevin rolled off 19th.
The feature event was marred by six cautions and a pair of red flags. Kevin
avoided the attrition and moved forward to finish in 6th place at the checkers
in the 30 lapper.
Fremont Speedway: 7/3/2010 Another high pill
draw placed Kevin last to out and qualify in the 26 car field. Kevin laid down a
lap of 13.07 that was good for 5th quick. His qualifying lap earned him a 5th
place start in heat #2 where, after a couple early cautions, Kevin began to
charge towards the front passing Brian Smith and then Mark Keegan to climb into
the 2nd spot. Kevin was all over the leader, Dean Jacobs, at the checkers but
fell one spot short of the heat race win finishing second. His second place run
did make him eligible for the inversion, which was a 4, to line up the nights
A-main. When the dust settled on the heat races, Kevin was scheduled to start
the nights feature event from the 3rd place starting spot. The A-main started
with a couple of early cautions. After a lap 5 caution Kevin used the high line
to power around the 0 of Brandon Wimmer and into the lead. Kevin would open up a
large lead and continue to run a strong race out front. The two cars on the move
were the 15c of Chris Andrews (started 5th) and the 20x of Craig Mintz (started
12th) who began to reel Kevin in at about the halfway point. Andrews and Mintz
were both running the low line and were getting very good forward drive off of
the corners. Andrews finally made the pass on Kevin on lap 21, Mintz would drive
by on the low side as well a few laps later. Kevin continued to run the top of
the track and brought the JD Automotive, Leafy Oaks Campground #3J home in 3rd
place with a fairly good advantage over 4th place Lee Jacobs and 5th place Brian
Smith.
In the make-up feature from June 12th, Kevin was scheduled to
start 15th, but moved up two spots to start 13th as a couple of cars that were
qualified for the event were absent from the track. The Make-up event was ran
after qualifications were concluded for the current nights event. Kevin ran a
patient and consistent race gradually passing cars and moving towards the front
of the field. When the checkered flag flew, Kevin had earned a 5th place finish
in the 30 lap feature, equaling the number of cars passed by race winner and
hard charger Dean Jacobs who started 9th.
All in all a very good weekend for the 3J Motorsports team.
Kevins strong performance over the weekend has boosted him in the standings. He
moves up 2 spots to 8th in the Attica
Raceway Park point standings, climbs 3 spots to 4th in the Fremont Speedway point standings and
also climbs 3 spots to 3rd place in the Kistler Racing Products FAST Series point standings.
Next up is a pair of Kistler Racing Products FAST Series
events. The first at Attica Raceway Park on Friday July 9th and the second at
Fremont Speedway on Saturday July 10th.

"Sulfur City Outlaw" Kevin Lee Collects Ohio Speedweek Bonus
|
|
|
|
|

MAUMEE, OH (6-28-10) by Scott Porter - FAST Public
Relations
The 2010 edition of the Ohio Sprint Speedweek can be chalked up as one
of the most grueling weeks in the 28-year history of the annual race
across the Buckeye State. Over a dozen teams made the over 1,100-mile
trek to all 9 events zig-zagging across Ohio, but only one Kistler
Racing Products Fremont Attica Sprint Title (FAST) team braved the
grueling hours behind the wheel of their rig and early morning
maintenance to make it to all 9 of the shows.
Kevin Lee, a Green Springs, Ohio native, out ran current FAST Kistler
Cup points leader Byron Reed by 71-points to collect FAST’s $500 Ohio
Sprint Speedweek Cash Bonus presented by Fremont Speedway & Attica
Raceway Park. The bonus money was offered up to any FAST Series driver
who had competed in every FAST points event in 2010. If on one of those
drivers were to win the Ohio Speedweek points title, the FAST Bonus Cash
would have paid $1000, but All Star David Gravel was the victor. Lee
picked up the $500 bonus as the highest finishing FAST Series driver at
the end of the week.
In just his second year behind the wheel of the 800+ horsepower beasts
known as 410 sprint cars, Kevin and the 3J Motorsports team put up an
impressive 12th place finish in the Ohio Sprint Speedweek point
standings with the help of qualifying for 7 of the 9 feature events. The
grueling week for the team was capped off with an 11th place finish at
Fremont Speedway on Saturday night. As Tim Shaffer & Stevie Smith put on
a show up front, the JD Automotive, Papa Jimmie's BBQ & Pizza, A.S.E.
LLC Industrial Fabrication, King’s Den #3J Gressman Powersports powered
Maxim was a fixture in the Top-10 for nearly the entire 50-lap finale.
Lee would loose the tenth position late to Reed, but would hold on to
collect his best finish of the week.
The driver formerly known as "The Leezard" was affectionately dubbed
"The Sulfur City Outlaw" after an incident at Limaland on Friday night
after an on track incident with another driver following a heat race
crash that sent both drivers back to the pits on a hook. (Kevin's home
town of Green Springs, OH is famous for having the world's largest
natural sulfur springs.) That was only the second time during Speedweek
where Lee failed to make it into the main event, the other coming at
Waynesfield.
“It took a lot of work to make all 9-shows from driving home each night,
washing the car and doing general maintenance before loading the rig
back up and head off to the next stop. Luckily we were able to push it
back into the trailer on most nights,” said Kevin Lee of his time on the
road, “It certainly wouldn’t have been possible without having an owner
like Jason Deel (of 3J Motorsports) who let us run the entire week and
turned the wrenches day & night to get me on the track. Also Jason Hill,
Kurt Humbert, Darrin Morrison, Mark Harger, Mike Day & “Q” all did their
part in a what was a pretty successful week for us.”
The team looks to use some of the knowledge gained on the road to help
them in their climb in the FAST Kistler Cup point standings. Currently
the team finds themselves in 6th place knocking on the door at the Top-5
with just 24-points separating them from the defending FAST Champion
Craig Mintz. Earlier this season, Lee collected his best finish of 4th
place at Fremont Speedway and is coming off a 6th place run at Attica
Raceway Park during the last Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship
Series event.
“You know this week was important to me because of the amount of seat
time I got. Plus getting to see everything from a 1/4-mile bullring to
3/8-mile high bank oval and add in the dry-slick conditions to wet and
cowboy-up racing - plus the talent your racing against makes each lap a
learning experience,” commented Lee on what he and the team learned from
more than a week on the road, “That along with the trust we gained in
each other’s abilities as a team and improving on the communication
between me and Jason will only help us from here on out.”
Fifteen FAST Series drivers made their mark on the 28th Annual Ohio
Sprint Speedweek by towing to at least a few new tracks outside the
confines of Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway. Notable drivers
included Byron Reed who defended the clay at Attica Raceway Park once
again and picked up the opening night feature win. The win marked his
second O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions victory of the season at
Attica and his first during Ohio Speedweek since 2002. Other impressive
showings during the week were Top-10 finishes by Reed, Dean Jacobs &
Mike Linder at Limaland Motorsports Park. Brock Mayes, Brandon Martin &
Lee Jacobs also collected several Top-10 finishes throughout the week of
racing. The week ended with "The Gasman" Phil Gressman leading the
majority of the 50-lap finale at "The Track That Action Built" (Fremont
Speedway) only to have the lead and the $10,000 check slip from the
grasp of the Genzman Racing Enterprises #53 in the final laps.
"We want to congratulate Kevin Lee and the 3J Motorsports team on a
successful Ohio Speedweek," stated FAST series organizer Bryan Autullo.
"Nowhere else in the country can you go race 410 sprint cars for 9
straight nights against some of the best drivers in the land at 9
different tracks in a single state. Ohio Speedweek is a great tradition
in our part of the world and we are proud of all the teams who got off
the porch and traveled up and down the road this past week to show the
rest of the Ohio dirt track fans who F.A.S.T. is."
The race for the 2010 Kistler Cup Trophy and the champion’s $10,000
share of the FAST Series points fund heats up this coming holiday
weekend as three features are on tap. First on Friday, July 2nd the
teams will haul to Attica Raceway Park for Kear’s Speed Shop Fan
Appreciation Night. Fans will be treated to a great night of racing for
an affordable $10 general admission ticket price! Then on Saturday, July
3rd at Fremont Speedway the teams will first compete in the make-up
feature from Night #10 before the regular night's program begins. The
month of July will separate the contenders from the pretenders as the
series only takes off the July 16th-17th weekend for the running of the
Kings Royal at Eldora Speedway. This weekend also features point events

Kevin Lee &
the 3J Motorsports team ready to take on grueling Speedweek schedule
3J Motorsports PR

pr@3jmotorsports.com

(Green Springs, OH) Kevin Lee and the 3J Motorsports team are
about to embark a grueling nine straight days of racing action across the state
of Ohio. Originally the team had only planned on contesting four of the nine
dates, but with all the rain-outs at Fremont and Attica this season thoughts
began to stir of possibly attempting the daunting task of contesting nine races
in nine nights at nine different Ohio race tracks. Kevin and his car
owner, Jason Deel, have longed to run the entire Ohio Speedweek schedule.
The endeavor will be a challenge for the small Green Springs,
OH based 3J Motorsports team which are in just their second full season of 410
racing, but everyone on the team is pumped up about it and ready to give it
their best shot. Work schedules and the like will be a big obstacle to overcome,
but everyone is ready to do all they can to make the week a success.
The week will bring an opportunity for Kevin and the team to
visit 3 tracks that they have yet to race at. Hilltop Speedway, Waynesfield
Motorsports Park, and Sharon Speedway will be first time visits for the 3J team
as well as driver Kevin Lee. Limaland will be a first time for the team and
driver in the 410 division as both Kevin and the 3J team have competed there
before in the 305 division.
Race #1 Friday June 18th - The week kicks off at
one of the Kistler Racing Products FAST Series tracks, Attica Raceway Park where
Kevin and the team run on a weekly basis. Kevin is currently 10th in the Attica
410 point standings and has a best finish of 6th at the 1/3 mile oval this
season.
Race #2 Saturday June 19th - The team will head
to KC Raceway where Kevin has ran once this season garnering a 10th place finish
in the feature.
Race #3 Sunday June 20th - Finds the 3J team at
Millstream Speedway. Kevin and the 3J team have competed at Millstream 3 times.
In 2008 in one of Kevin's first 410 starts, he had a strong top ten run going
and ended in 17th after not finishing due to front end damage suffered after a
huge wheelie. The other 410 start was Speedweek in 2009 where he failed to
qualify for the A-main. The team also had a 305 start, on the same night as the
2009 Speedweek show, and finished with a 5th place run.
Race #4 Monday June 21st - Kevin and the boys
will head to Wayne County Speedway for Mondays event. Kevin and the 3J team have
competed at the Wayne County facility once before (2009) and had a 3rd place
finish in that event.
Race #5 Tuesday June 22nd - Hilltop Speedway
will be a first time visit for Kevin and the team.
Race #6 Wednesday June 23rd - Waynesfield
Motorsports Park will also be a first time visit for Kevin and the team.
Race #7 Thursday June 24th - Sharon Speedway
will be yet another first time visit by Kevin and the team.
Race #8 Friday June 25th - Limaland Motorsports
Park will be the first time that Kevin and the team have competed in the 410
division at the 1/4 mile bullring. Kevin and the 3J team have both competed at
Lima in the 305 division.
Race #9 Saturday June 26th - The grand finale
finds the team back at home at Fremont Speedway. Fremont is another Kistler
Racing Products FAST Series track that the team competes at on a weekly basis.
Kevin is currently 7th in the Fremont 410 standings. Kevin also sits 6th in the
Kistler Racing Products FAST Series point standings.
Everyone from car owner on down the ladder are looking
forward to the challenge. The goal is to compete hard, make the shows and have a
great time in the process. " I'm so geared up for this I can't even describe it
" stated Kevin on Thursday afternoon while cleaning fish from the days " hard
work " of catching dinner.

Ma Nature ends
good weekend early for Kevin Lee
3J Motorsports PR
6-13-10
Contact:
pr@3jmotorsports.com

(Green Springs, OH) On tap for the weekend were Kistler
Racing Products FAST Series events #'s 9 and 10 at Attica Raceway Park and
Fremont Speedway. Kevin Lee and the team got the weekend off to a good start at
ARP and carried that momentum into Fremont Speedway until mother nature put a
halt to things with 3 features and a partial b-main yet to be logged in the
record books.
Attica Raceway Park: 6/11/10
The Green Springs, Ohio based 3J Motorsports team with their pilot, Kevin Lee,
rolled into the Attica Raceway Park pit area for the 7th time of the 2010
season. 7 was lucky for the 3J team on this night as Kevin would draw a good
pill that garnered him a pole position starting spot in heat #1. If Kevin has
learned one thing since making the jump to the 410 division a year ago it is
that you had better be up on the wheel and hammer down from the drop of the
green flag or you will be left in the dust. Kevin did just that and led the
first heat wire to wire to earn a chance to redraw for one of the first 12
starting positions in the nights A-main. Kevin's draw for the A-Main was a 3,
placing the JD Automotive sponsored #3J in the 3rd starting spot.
In the A-Main Kevin rolled off from inside the 2nd row. On
the start, Kevin held his own through the first two turns and down the
backstretch. Then coming out of turn 4 on the first lap he had to take evasive
action to avoid another car that came down from up high on the track and chopped
him off as he exited the turn. This cost Kevin all of his momentum and he
dropped back to the 9th spot. Kevin worked the rest of the race to climb back
towards the top 5, making it as far as 6th, which is where he brought the Papa
Jimmies, Kings Den backed 3J home at the checkers.
Fremont Speedway: 6/12/10
After a very good outing at ARP the night before, Kevin and the team made their
way to Fremont Speedway for the 4th time this season. Things didn't start quite
as well as the previous night, but after qualifying concluded, Kevin had timed
his Day Construction backed mount to a 12th place effort. This would place the
3J in the 3rd starting position in heat 3 of 3. The track was such that the
bottom was not much of a factor and the higher side was the fast way around the
1/3 mile clay oval. Kevin's inside starting spot would prove to be a detriment
as he would fall back to sixth place by the end of lap 1, at which point when he
was finally able to get up higher on the track and get some speed built up. This
heat race, just like the others, produced very little passing. After settling in
in the 6th spot, Kevin began to reel in 5th place running Duane Zablocki, but
never got quite close enough to attempt any kind of pass for the final transfer
position. Kevin would have to run the B-main for a chance at an A-main starting
berth.
Before the B-main would take the track, there was an
Australian Pursuit race to be ran. The top 8 from the final 2009 point standings
at Fremont Speedway were eligible to run the Pursuit race. The 8th place
finisher from 2009, Cap Henry, was not in attendance as he was racing with the
AllStars in PA, so next in line was Kevin as he had finished 9th in the final
2009 Fremont point standings. The race was lined up by random pill draw, and
Kevin ended up drawing the pole position. The race was to be 8 laps long and if
you were passed by another car, you pull off of the track and are eliminated
from the event. Kevin started up front with 2009 Fremont Speedway track
champion, Brock Mayes, starting right on his rear bumper. On the start Kevin
bolted to the lead coming out of turn 4 to take the green flag. Brock ducked to
the bottom in turns one and two and pulled alongside Kevin for a moment, but
Kevin's higher line provided the momentum to pull back away. Kevin stretched his
lead a bit during the race, Mayes would begin to reel the 3J in a few times but
never was able to apply any real pressure and Kevin maintained a good smooth
line each lap to win the "Racers Racing for the Cure" Australian Pursuit and the
$1,300 prize that went with it. The interview of the race winner that was to
follow the special event was foregone as approaching weather had the speedway
trying to hurry things along in hopes of getting the entire show in the books.
Kevin wanted to thank all the fans for their support, thank Gressman Powersports
for providing the power to stay out front and win the event, and send thanks to
JD Automotive, Papa Jimmies BBQ & Pizza, A.S.E. LLC
Industrial Fab, The
Kings Den, Day Construction, Humbert Trucking, & Leafy Oaks Campground.
In the B-main, Kevin's qualifying lap would have him starting
2nd outside of Dean Jacobs. At the drop of the green Deans years of experience
came into play as he shot out to the lead with Kevin in tow. Kevin ran second
for the entire 10 lap race keeping Jacobs in sight, but never getting quite
close enough to apply any pressure for the lead. Kevin brought the Leafy Oaks
sponsored 3J home 2nd, transferring to the A-main event. Kevin is slated to
start 15th in the A-main when it is ran on the make-up date of July 3rd in
conjunction with a complete program of racing for that date.
Following the 410 sprint B-main, the dirt truck B-main took
to the track, but soon after the green flag waved mother nature opened the flood
gates once again on the Sandusky County speed plant ending the nights racing.
The make-up A-main for the Fort Ball Pizza
Palace 410 sprints along with the rest of the B-main and make-up A-main for the
dirt trucks will be run on Saturday, July 3. The make-up B-main and A-main for
the Fremont Federal Credit Union 305 Sprints will be run on Saturday, July 10.
That means there will be a complete program for the 410 sprints, 305 sprints and
dirt trucks on July 3 with a bonus make-up features for the 410 sprints and dirt
trucks. Also, on July 10, there will be a regular program of 410 sprints, 305
sprints and Emods with a bonus make-up feature of the 305 sprints.
Kevin made up some ground on those ahead of him but remains 10th in the Attica Raceway Park
point standings, With Fremonts event incomplete, Kevin remains 7th in the Fremont Speedway point standings, and
moves up 3 spots to 6th
place in the Kistler Racing Products FAST Series point standings.
Next up for Kevin and the team is the ASCoC Ohio Speedweek
opener at Attica Raceway Park on Friday June 18th. Plans for Saturday 6/19 are
still TBD. Tentative plans are to be at Millstream Speedway in Findlay, OH for
the 3rd leg of Ohio Speedweek on Sunday 6/20/10. Then Fremont Speedway on
Saturday June 26th for the Speedweek finale. Keep checking 3jmotorsports.com for

(Green Springs, OH) Attica Raceway Park: 6/4/10
Kevin Lee and the 3J team were at ARP for another FAST Series event at the Ohio
speed-plant. A poor pill draw found Kevin starting from the the 8 spot in heat
3. A very fast race surface proved to be bad for passing, and Kevin brought the
Day Construction backed 3J home 7th in the heat. Kevin started the B-main from
6th and worked his way up to a 4th place run garnering one of the 5 transfer
spots into the A-Main. In the A-main Kevin started 19th and fought his way to a
14th place finish. The car was pretty good in the feature and came in nicely as
the race went on as evidenced by how hard Kevin raced with race winner, Byron
Reed, for several laps before finally going a lap down on the final circuit.
Fremont's scheduled FAST show on Saturday, 6/5/10, wash
washed out by mother nature yet again.
The results aren't exactly where the team wants them, but
priority one is to make the shows, and that has been being accomplished for the
last few weeks now. Kevin and Jason Deel (car owner/ crew chief) are getting on
the same page and hopefully some better results will be in the near future for
the JD Automotive 3J sprint team.
Kevin moves up a spot to 10th place in the Attica Raceway Park
point standings, remains in 7th place in the Fremont Speedway point standings, and
is in 9th
place in the Kistler Racing Products FAST Series point standings.

3J team double

(Green Springs, OH) The 3J team was geared up and ready for
the two days of racing action at Fremont Speedway over the Memorial Day weekend.
The weekend started out on a sour note when as the team was preparing to leave
for the track on Saturday afternoon, word came that team member Mark Harger's
step dad had passed away very unexpectedly. With the teams thoughts and prayers
with Mark and his family, the car was loaded and the team headed towards
Fremont.
Fremont Speedway 5/29/2010: Day one of the two day
Fremont weekend offered up the All Star Circuit of Champions as the sanctioning
body of Kears Speed Shop Night. With 38 cars on hand in the 410 sprint division,
Kevin would be slated to go out 32nd for his pair of qualifying laps. The first
of his two laps was quickest at 13.116 seconds and was 11th quick at the
conclusion of Kistler Engines qualifications. This would have the JD Automotive
3J machine starting 4th in heat #3. Kevin got a good start and battled All Star
rookie contender Jarred Ridge for the runner up spot as they chased eventual
winner David Gravel to the checkers in the ten lap race. Heat 3 finish: (Top 5
transfer to A-Main) 1. 89G-David Gravel; 2.
3J-Kevin Lee; 3. 12-Jarred Ridge; 4. 4-Danny Smith; 5. W20-Greg Wilson; 6.
312-Mike Linder; 7. O4-Cap Henry; 8. 14H-Todd Heller; 9. 10-David Harrison.
In the nights 40 lap feature Kevin would roll off
from the 10th position in the 24 car field. Kevin ran in and around the tenth
spot for much of the race dropping back as far as 16th at one point. He battled
back and had a spirited race with Brandon Wimmer for much of the latter part of
the race. They raced to the checkers side by side, with Wimmer edging Lee at the
stripe for the 12th spot relegating Kevin and the Kings Den backed 3J to the
13th finishing position.
Fremont Speedway 5/30/2010: Day two of the two day
Fremont weekend was a regular points event and the night was sponsored by Helms
& Son Excavating. With mother nature finally giving area tracks a break from the
rain, she did a 180 and turned up the pressure cooker. With temps in the 90's
and the sun beating on the clay oval, it took an enormous effort by the Fremont
crew to keep mother nature from turning the racing surface into large fired
pottery dish. Despite their efforts the track would be much drier and slower for
night number two. Kevins qualifying lap of 14.67 would hold up for 13th quick of
the 28 cars in the pits on night two.
Starting from the 2nd spot in heat #1 Kevin piloted the Papa
Jimmies backed sprinter to a 3rd place finish behind winner Brock Mayes and 2nd
place Phil Gressman. Heat 1 Finish: (8 Laps - Top 5 Transfer) 1. 11B-Brock
Mayes; 2. 53-Phil Gressman; 3. 3J-Kevin Lee; 4. W20-Greg Wilson; 5. 60-Jody
Keegan; 6. 24H-Lee Jacobs; 7. 47-Caleb Helms; 8. O4-Cap Henry; 9. 9Z-Duane
Zablocki .
The 30 lap feature event would line up with JD Automotive
backed 3J rolling off from the 16th spot. A track surface that dried and
narrowed to one lane quickly made passing very difficult. If you slipped up out
of the groove the slightest bit you lost ground in yards rather than feet per
second, or so it seemed. Kevin got a great start on the initial try at green,
but it was negated when the start was waved off by the flagman. The second start
wasn't quite as good and Kevin got hung out to dry in the middle groove for the
first 1/2 lap. By the time Kevin squeezed back down into the low groove, he was
running in the 19th spot. Settling in for the long haul Kevin kept pace and
picked off a car here and there as they slipped up and allowed enough room for
the 3J to squeeze by on the low side. In the closing laps Kevin would pull right
onto the rear bumper of tenth place running Bryan Sebetto, but would slip up on
the racing surface a bit falling back and allowing Brandon Martin back by on the
low side. Kevin would bring the Leafy Oaks Campground, Day Construction, ASE LLC
sponsored #3J to the checkers in the 12th position.
Kevin remains in 11th place in the Attica Raceway Park
point standings, drops 3 to 7th place in the Fremont Speedway point standings, and
remains in 8th
place in the Kistler Racing Products FAST Series point standings.
Next up for Kevin and the team is a pair of FAST Series
events at Attica Raceway Park on Friday June 4th and then at

(Green Springs, OH) Mother nature wouldn't cooperate for the
scheduled WoO event at Attica Raceway Park on Friday May 21st. After a deluge of
rain Thursday afternoon and evening the plug was pulled Friday before noon. The
race has not been rescheduled thus far.
The 3J team had kicked around a plan to trek to Lernerville
Speedway on Friday night after the ARP show was cancelled, but work schedules
did not allow enough time to make the trip.
With almost everybody on the team committed to a non-racing
event on Saturday evening, the team couldn't make plans to attend any race on
Saturday night, although there were a lot of options to choose from.
Kevin remains in 11th place in the Attica Raceway Park
point standings, 4th place in the Fremont Speedway point standings, and 8th
place in the Kistler Racing Products FAST Series point standings.
Next up for Kevin and the team is a double header weekend at

Dirty Dozen
for Kevin Lee in pair of FAST Series events.

pr@3jmotorsports.com

(Green Springs, OH) This weekend brought another pair of
Kistler Racing Products FAST Series events to the 3J race schedule and Kevin
garnered a pair of "dirty dozen" place finishes.
Attica Raceway Park: 5/14/10 On Friday Kevin and the team
were once again at Attica Raceway Park for the 4th night of FAST Series action.
Kevin would draw a decent starting spot for his heat race, 3rd in heat #3, and
would look to capture one of the top 4 finishing positions and secure a starting
spot in the nights main event. He would, however, struggle from the onset of the
race and bring the JD Automotive backed #3J across the finish line in the 7th
spot relegating him to the B-main event. In the B-main Kevin started 11th and
steadily worked his way through traffic to finish in the 4th spot, securing a
20th place start in the nights feature event. In the A-Main Kevin would
gradually work towards the front and found himself crossing the checkered flag
in the 12th spot.
Fremont Speedway: 5/15/10 Saturday found the team at Fremont
Speedway for the 5th night of Kistler Racing Products FAST Series competition.
Kevin would go out 9th of the 31 cars to take time and put down a lap that ended
up being 21st quick. This time made the heat race inversion and placed the Papa
Jimmies sponsored 3J machine on the pole of heat #1. In a heat race that was
loaded with heavy hitters Kevin got a great start and held off the other front
row starter, Byron Reed, for the win. They were followed to the line by Randy
Hannagan and Dale Blaney. This finish locked Kevin into the feature event, but
with the dice roll for the A-main inversion being a 4, Kevin would most likely
be starting near the rear of the field. When the remaining heat races and B-main
had concluded and the final starting line up posted, it was revealed that Kevin
would be rolling off from the 19th starting spot in the A-main. Just like the
previous night at ARP, Kevin worked his way forward in the field and at the
conclusion had once again brought the A.S.E. LLC sponsored #3J home in the 12th
spot.
The team looks to improve on it's results, but is
consistently finding a way to get the JD Automotive backed machine into feature
events. Strides are being made in the right direction and the team is building
more confidence with each week of action.
Kevin currently sits in 11th place in the Attica Raceway Park
point standings, 4th place in the Fremont Speedway point standings, and 8th
place in the Kistler Racing Products FAST Series point standings.
Next up for Kevin and the team is the WoO event at ARP this
Friday 5/21/10. The team hasn't decided if and where they may race on Saturday
5/22/10. Stay in tune to

(Green Springs, OH) The 3J team had intended on making a trek
north of the border to Butler Speedway in Quincy, MI on Saturday, but mother
nature had unleashed her fury on the Michigan track for most of the day on
Friday forcing the track to cancel it's attempt at a season opening event for
the second straight week. With time to make a back up decision, the team decided
to head south to KC Raceway near Chillicothe, OH. This would be Kevins first
trip to race at the facility. The 3J team had been to the track twice previously
to compete in the 305 division with Scott Miller behind the wheel and they came
away with a win in 2003 and a second place run in 2004.
KC conducts their time trials during hot laps and Kevin ended
up with 8th quick time of the 20 410 sprinters on hand. Kevin started 2nd in
heat 1 and chased Nick Naber throughout the race. Kevin brought the JD
Automotive backed 3J home in second behind Naber, and was followed to the
checkers by fellow northern Ohio driver, Shawn Valenti.
Kevin started the feature event from the 9th spot. Kevin
raced amongst fellow northern Ohio drivers Brian Smith and Shawn Valenti for
much of the race eventually bringing the Papa Jimmies, Day Construction #3J home
in the tenth position. Danny Smith won the event over 2nd place Kody Kinser, 3rd
place Jim Nier and 4. Cole Duncan, 5. Adam Strausser, 6. Josh Davis, 7.
Jim Stinson, 8. Nick Nabor, 9. Keith Baxter, 10. Kevin Lee, 11. Brian Smith, 12.
Shawn Valenti, Bryce Dickson, Mark Imler, Alec Martin, Randy Fink, Wes McGlumphy,
Pete Ischi, Sam Ashworth, B.P. Hickel
Look for Kevin and the 3J team back at Attica and Fremont

Kevin Lee
improves performance in pair of FAST Series events

(Green Springs, OH) The second weekend of FAST Series
competition was much kinder to Kevin Lee and the 3J team as they improved their
performance at Attica Raceway Park and opened up the Fremont Speedway season
with a strong showing as well.
On Friday night, 4-30-2010, the team towed to ARP for the 4th
time this season to compete in the 3rd scheduled Kistler Racing Products FAST
Series event. A much better pill draw would start the night off on a better foot
than in previous weeks at the 1/3 mile speed-plant. Kevin started in the 3rd
position of heat #2 and maintained that spot for much of the race, eventually
slipping back 2 spots by the conclusion of the 8 lapper. His 5th place heat race
run would, however, earn him a starting spot in the nights A-main event, but
fell one spot short of being eligible to re-draw for a top 12 starting spot.
Kevin would roll off from the 14th starting spot in the nights main event. Kevin
would run in and around the 11th place position for much of the race. The car
started to come in and Kevin began to find his groove just as race leader, Phil
Gressman, caught him to put him a lap down on lap 20, 1 lap before a caution
came out after 2nd place running Craig Mintz tagged the front stretch wall
causing damage that forced him to a stop in turn 2, unable to restart and
relegating the 20X pitside. In the closing laps Kevin would catch and pass 10th
place running Kody Kinser but that pass didn't really matter in the final
finishing order as Kevin had all ready been scored a lap down. Kevin finished
the event by bringing the Kings Den, JD Automotive, A.S.E. LLC backed 3J home in
the 11th spot.
On Saturday night, 5-1-2010, the team headed to Fremont
Speedway. The event would be the 4th scheduled event for the FAST Series of 2010
and another attempt at getting a first race in at the storied 1/3 mile clay oval
in 2010 season.
Another good pill draw would find Kevin slated to go out 6th,
of 30 cars, for qualifications. Kevin put down a lap of 12.50 which held up for
4th quick on the evening. With the 4 heat format in effect, Kevin would roll off
from the 6th spot in heat #4. The heat race would be a blemish on the nights
record as after a second caution, involving the 3J machine, waved Kevin would be
required to take his JD Automotive backed mount to the pit area and await his
chance to advance to the nights A-main via the B-main event. In the B-main event
Kevin would start from the 3rd position and race his way to a second place
finish securing a starting spot in the nights main event. Transferring cars from
the B-main included 1. Scott Euler, 2. Kevin Lee, 3. David Harrison & 4. Chris
Andrews. In the feature event Kevin would start from the 10th position. Kevin
would race hard throughout the 30 lapper and really started moving forward as
the race went on. By the time that the checkered flag flew Kevin had brought the
JD Automotive, Day Construction, Humbert Trucking backed entry home in the 4th
spot. Kevin followed race winner Byron Reed, 2nd place Mark Keegan & 3rd place
Phil Gressman to the checkered flag.
An encouraging weekend for the entire 3J team as early season
woes have held them to a slow start to the 2010 campaign. The team looks to
improve each time they hit the racing surface in search of their first 410
feature win.
ARP and Fremont Speedway do not have 410 sprints on their
schedules for next weekend. The 3J team currently doesn't have any races
scheduled for next weekend, but stay tuned to
www.3jmotorsports.com for any
announcements that may arise if the team decides to venture away from the FAST

(Green Springs, OH) Friday night, 4-23-10, found the 3J team
at Attica Raceway Park for the FAST Series opener for the 2010 season. A poor
pill draw had the 3J team battling from deep in the field in heat race #2 where
Kevin started in the 8th spot. Kevin raced, the Papa Jimmies, Day Construction,
Kings Den backed #3J, hard in the event that was loaded with fast cars and
drivers. He crossed the finish line in the 6th spot, 2 positions short of
transferring to the A-main. Kevin followed winner Mike Linder, 2nd W20-Greg
Wilson, 3rd Byron Reed, 4th Brandon Martin & 5th Chris Andrews across the line.
In the B-main, Kevin started 6th and was relegated to a 16th place finish after
contact with the #60 machine of Jody Keegan on lap 2 which sent the 3J pit-side
with front end damage too severe to continue without repairs. Kevin was very
disappointed as he stated "the car was really good in the B-main" and he "was
just settling in to make a charge toward the front" in pursuit of a transfer
position into the A-main. Kevin, Jody, and a couple more cars were all battling
for the 5th - 7th spots when the incident occurred on the front stretch just
after exiting turn 4.
Saturdays scheduled FAST Series event at Fremont Speedway was
washed out by mother nature. Fremont has yet to get a race in this season due to
the weather.
Next on the schedule for the 3J team is another pair of FAST
Series events next weekend at ARP & Fremont Speedway on Friday the 30th and
Saturday May 1st. Hopefully mother nature will cooperate and lend us some decent
weather for a change this spring.

Fremont Speedway
opener postponed
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Saturday, April 17, 2010
Contact: Brian Liskai
Liskai2x@cros.net

FREMONT, Ohio – The 59th season opener for Fremont Speedway for Saturday, April
17, has been cancelled due to cold temperatures. A cold front moved into the
Fremont area Friday and brought with it strong winds and falling temperatures,
prompting the decision to move the season opener to Saturday, April 24 on Fort
Ball Pizza Palace Night with the 410 sprints, Fremont Federal Credit Union 305
Sprints and the Fremont Fence dirt trucks along with the stocks.
“The wind in the morning was strong out of the north right into the stands.
After consulting with meteorologist Norm VanNess, we determined that while the
wind would diminish as the day went on, the temperatures would not rebound very
much. In fact, temperatures will fall throughout the night into the 30s. That
just isn’t a good situation for our loyal fans,” said Fremont Speedway
Co-Promoter Rich Farmer. “And, these temperatures are very hard on race engines
and we have a long summer ahead of us and we don’t want to put the teams in a
bad situation.”

(Green Springs, OH) Kevin Lee and the 3J team
rebounded from a disappointing night a week ago at Attica Raceway Park with a
much better outing this week. With the O'Reilly All Star Sprints on the card
this weekend for the HD Supply Spring Nationals Kevin would qualify 16th in the
field of 45 410 sprint cars. Starting from the 3rd position in heat 4, Kevin
would slip back and finish the race in the 6th spot, just one spot short of
transferring to the A-Main, relegating him to the B-main. Starting 5th in
the B-Main event, Kevin worked his way forward to the 2nd spot at one point,
then finished in the 3rd spot, behind winner Mark Keegan and second place Scott
Euler, transferring into the A-Main. In the A-Main Kevin would start 14th and
run in and around that spot for much of the race with a finish of 13th in the 40
lap event.

(Green Springs, OH) With the Attica opener being
moved back a week due to mother nature a week ago, the team looked forward to
the warm weather and sunny skies for the Attica opener on April 2nd at ARP.
Unfortunately the night started off on a sour note and continued that pattern
all night. After hotlaps the engine hood would spend more time off of the car
than it did on. The team battled ignition problems the rest of the evening. The
team along with help from Scott Gressman didn't give up on the issue and
continued to get things ironed out. Kevin did draw a decent pill which had him
slated to start 4th in the 2nd heat. With the engine running very poorly, Kevin
limped the 3J home in the 8th spot. Work continued on the car and Kevin rolled
out to start the B-main from the 14th position. With something still amiss under
the hood of the 3J machine, Kevin managed a 10th place finish in the B-main.
The
necessary repairs will be made this week and the 3J will return to ARP next
weekend for the 2 day HD SUPPLY SPRING

to better results next weekend.
