FREMONT, Ohio - Fremont Speedway crowned Byron Reed (410 sprints), Stuart
Brubaker (305 sprints) and Jim McGrath (dirt trucks) the 2008 champions during
the annual awards banquet Saturday, Nov. 1.
The top 10 in points in the Fort Ball Pizza Palace 410 Sprints, Fremont Federal
Credit Union 305 Sprints and Fremont Fence Dirt Trucks took home point fund
money.
Also, Promoters' Choice Awards were presented to Bobby and Kellie Sears for
their work with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Alex Burkett family for their
fund-raising efforts for the American Cancer Society, and Mike Dukeshire and
Tina Roberts for all of their work on the track's July 5 Salute to America's
Heroes...our military's men and women. The Engine Pro Engine Builder of the Year
Award went to Level Performance and the Alex Burkett Business Awards went to
Crown Battery and the Baumann Auto Group.
Reed, the 2003 and 2007 Fremont champion, competed in 13 of the 14 A-mains
during the track's 57th season of racing, missing only the non-wind finale.
He recorded four wins on the year - June 7, June 14, July 26 and Aug. 10.
Reed, who has won the last four track titles at Attica, finished out of the top
9 only once. Besides his four wins, he recorded two runner-up finishes and a
third. Reed’s average A-main finishing position was a remarkable fifth.
Brubaker, of Helena, Ohio, competed in 15 of the 16 A-mains at Fremont Speedway

9th. More impressive, of the 15 A-mains he competed in, Brubaker only finished
out of the top 9 once. Brubaker, who also noted the

season best pair of runner-up finishes. His average A-main finishing position
was seventh.
