Fremont Speedway honors 2009 champions
Mayes competed in all 15 A-mains in
2009, scoring 12 top 10 finishes and an incredible 10 top five runs. He won on
May 9, June 6, and Aug. 1 and had a runner-up finish at the June 27 All Star
show. He also scored a third at the May 23 All Star race and the Sept. 26 All
Star race. Heuerman competed in all 17 A-mains in 2009, recording an amazing 15 top 10 finishes and 11 top five runs. There was a stretch during the season - from June 27 through Sept. 12 - where he did not finish out ofthe top five. Heuerman scored a win on April 25, and recorded one runner-up while compiling four third place showings. His average A-main finishing position was 6th. Endicott competed in all 14 A-mains
and never finished out of the top 10 and recorded a remarkable 10 top 5
finishes. In fact, during the entire season, his worst finish was an eighth on
June 6. Endicott scored wins on May 2 and Sept. 12 and had a pair of runner-up
finishes Besides the top 10 in points, the rookies of the year were also honored. In the 410 sprints it was Bellevue's Cap Henry with Ottawa Lake, Michigan's Tim Bottles being named the top rookie in the 305 sprints and Fremont, Ohio's Keith Sorg getting the honor in the dirt trucks. Also, the Alex Burkett Business Partner Award went to Kistler Racing Engines and Kistler Race Products and Fort Ball Pizza Palace. The Engine Pro Engine Builder of the Year went to Level Performance astheir engines graced the Engine Pro Victory Lane at "The Track That Action Built" more then any other of the builders. Receiving special service awards for their behind-the-scenes work at the speedway were Ross Paulson, Chris Kiser, Randy Mapus and the Fremont Attica Sprint Title. It was announced Fremont Speedway will incorporate a spec. right rear and left rear Goodyear tire in 2010 in the sprint divisions. Following is a look at the top 10 in

3. Craig Mintz, from Gibsonburg, Ohio. Mintz, the 2009 Kistler Racing Products Fremont Attica Sprint Title champion, competed in all 15 A-mains in 2009. He scored 11 top 10 finishes and finished in the top 5 in half of the features he competed in. He scored wins on May 2 and July 1 and had a second place run and three third place showings. His average A-main finishing position was 8th. 4. Mark Keegan from Fremont, Ohio. A nine-time Fremont champion, Keegan competed in 14 of the 15 A-mains, missing only the Sept. 19 feature. He scored 8 top 10 finishes and 3 top five runs including a season best2nd on July 11. Keegan's average A-main finishing position was 11th. 5. Mike Linder from Fremont, Ohio. A two-time Fremont 410 champion, Linder competed in 13 of the 15 A-mains missing only the June 6 and June 27 features. He recorded 4 top 10 runs and 3 top 5 finishes on route to an average A-main finishing position of 13th. He scored a win on Aug. 15. 6. Lee Jacobs, from Dalton, Ohio. Jacobs competed in 14 of the 15 A-mains, missing only the June 6 show. He scored 7 top 10 finishes and 4 top 5 runs. He had three runner-up finishes including the May 23 All Star show. His average feature finishing position was 9th. 7. David Harrison, from Burgoon, Ohio. Harrison competed in 10 of the 15 A-mains and recorded a pair of top five runs, including a season-best third on Aug. 1. His average A-main finishing position was 12th. 8. Cap Henry, from Bellevue. The 2009 rookie of the year competed in 9 of the 15 A-mains in 2009, picking up four top 10 runs. He recorded three season-best 6th place finishes including the May 23 All Star show. Henry's average A-main finishing position was 11th. 9. Kevin Lee, from Green Springs. A rookie in 410 sprint action in 2009, Lee competed in 12 of the 15 A-mains, recording a pair of season-best 10th place finishes. His average finishing position was15th. 10. Brian Smith from Fremont. A former 305 sprint track champion, Smith competed in 8 of the 15 sprint races in 2009. He recorded 3 top 10 finishes including a season-best 6th on May 9. His average feature finishing position was 12th.
3. Stuart Brubaker from Helena, Ohio.
The 2008 Fremont champion competed in 16 of the 17 A-mains, missing only the May
23 feature. Brubaker recorded an incredible 14 top 10 finishes and 8 top 5 runs.
He posted two wins, on May 30 and the nonwing feature on June 27. He also

Last year’s rookie of the year competed in 16 of the 17 A-mains, missing only
the Sept. 26 show when he let his brother run his car. He scored 9 top 10
finishes and 6 top 5 runs. Dussel posted wins on July 11 and Aug. 1. His average
feature 5. Bobby Clark from Fremont, Ohio. Clark competed in all 17 A-mains in 2009, recording an incredible 11 top 10 finishes and 7 top five runs. He scored wins on May 2, June 6, Sept. 19 and Sept. 26. His average A-main finishing position was 9th. 6. D.J. Foos from Fremont, Ohio. Foos, in his second year of sprint car racing, competed in 16 of the 17 A-mains, recording 10 top 10 finishes and 6 top five runs. He had a season-best pair of second place finishes while maintaining an average feature finishing position of 8th. 7. Steve Rando from Lindsay, Ohio. Rando competed in 15 of the 17 A-mains in 2009, recording 11 top 10 finishes and 4 top five runs. His season best was a third on May 2. Rando's average A-main finishing position was 10th. 8. Jimmy Colvin from Bellevue, Ohio.
This second-year driver competed in 16 of the 17 A-mains, missing only the Sept.
19 feature. He recorded 7 top 10 finishes and 5 top 5 runs, including a
season-best second at the 305 sprint invitational on Sept. 6. His average
feature finishing 9. Bill Kraylek from Fostoria, Ohio. Kraylek competed in 16 of the 17 A-mains, missing only the May 2 event. He scored 8 top 10 finishes and 3 top five runs, including a win on opening night, and a runner-up finish on July 11. Bill’s average feature finishing position was 10th. 10. Chad Wilson from Toledo, Ohio. Wilson competed in 12 of the 17 A-mains in 2009. He scored 3 top 10 runs and a pair of top 5 finishes including a season-best pair of fourth place runs. His average feature finishing position was 12th.
3. Bob Dible from Fostoria, Ohio. Dible also competed in all 14 A-mains in 2009, recording an incredible 10 top 10 finishes and 8 top 5 runs. He scored two wins in 2009 - Sept. 6 and Sept. 18. His average A-main finishing position was 8th. 4. Jim McGrath from Clyde, Ohio. The 2008 Fremont Speedway champion competed in all 14 A-mains this season, recording 8 top 10 runs and five top five finishes. He scored two wins - on May 9 and July 11. 5. Jimmy McGrath Jr. from Clyde, Ohio. He competed in 13 of the 14 A-mains, missing only the opening night feature. He recorded 11 top 10 runs and 6 top five finishes including a season-best runner-up finish on June 6. His average feature finishing position was 7th. 6. Loren Schwochow from Fremont, Ohio. Schwochow competed in 13 of the 14 A-mains, missing only the Sept. 26 show. He scored 6 top 10 finishes and a pair of top five runs, both 5th place finishes in the opening two nights. His average A-main finishing position was 10th. 7. Will Tezak from Toledo, Ohio. Tezak competed in 12 of the 14 A-mains, missing only the May 30 and Sept. 26 shows. He scored 7 top 10 finishes and a pair of top five runs including a season-best second on Sept. 6. His average feature finishing position was 10th. 8. Steve Sabo from Fremont, Ohio. A
three-time truck champion, Sabo competed in 12 of the 14 A-mains in 2009,
missing only the July 4 and Sept. 26 features. He scored 9 top 10 runs and a
pair of top 5 finishes including a season-best 2nd on July 11. His average
feature finishing 9. Brian Sorg from Fremont, Ohio. Sorg competed in 13 of the 14 A-mains, missing only the July 11 show. He scored 5 top 10s and three top five finishes including a season-best third on opening night. His average feature finishing position was 11th. 10. Dan Hennig from Castalia, Ohio.Hennig competed in 12 of the 14 A-mains in 2009, scoring 10 top 10 finishes and 8 top fives. He scored three wins in 2009 - June 6, July 18 and Sept. 26. Had he not missed the opening two races of the season Hennig may have finished a lot higher in the standings. His average A-main finishing position was 5th.
