JASON FLORY RETAKES THE POINTS LEAD AT WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY

Jason Flory of nearby Creston Ohio gathered in his third feature win of the 2010 season on Saturday night in the Frosty Twins Late Models and also went back out front in the very tight points battle.Flory was the 2006 track champion and has been very consistent in every outing this year in his Medina Mountain Motors/Joe McElvain number 02. Flory took the dash win and was lined up on the pole for the feature with Alan Baker along side and the second row made up of Mark Banal and Ryan Markham.Flory wasted no time in going out front,however before the first lap was scored,a yellow flag brought them back to a complete restart formation.Flory actually got a better start this time and by lap ten had opened up a sizable advantage on the balance of the field.Chet Alexander put extreme pressure on Markham for many laps and moved into third place behind Banal at about the same time.No one had anything for Flory,however another yellow slowed the field on lap fourteen. On the restarts Flory protected the bottom very well by using the diamond start out of turn four and it worked very well.Flory went on to be the first to the finish with Banal second, Alexander was third,Weston Hutchinson took fourth and Markham was fifth.Eric Myers and Coby Bartram were the two heat winners. Duffy Smith had finished in the runner up spot on several races this year but was not going to be denied a win in the Winged Sprints A Main.Smith was perfect for the evening as he set fast time,won the heat and the finale.He was never challenged by anyone until a late race charge by Kevin Lee.A very good long lasting battle between Kirk Jeffries,Bill Morrison and Brent Coffman went on for several laps.Smith was the winner with Lee capturing second place, Jeffries was third,Morrison hung onto fourth and Coffman stayed in the top five again.Jeffries was the other heat winner. Mark Gardiner jumped into Ben Mott's Pure Stock and won the heat race and the feature. Gardiner had driven in several divisions this year and has had great success in every ride. Four time winner Troy Anderson led the first six laps before moving around Anderson.Two time winner Larry Baldwin joined the chase and swapped the runner up spot with Anderson on two seperate occassions.Following Gardiner to the finish line was Baldwin,Anderson,Brandon Craver and Charlie Dawson.Anderson and Gardiner were the two heat winners. Barry Jacobs from Mt Vernon passed race leader Mitch Basich with five laps to go to win his first Tri State Modified feature this season.Jacobs stayed right on the rear bumper of the leader before making his winning move and sailed to a 2.3 second advantage at the finish line. Basich took the second place finish with Darrick Hubbar in third,Mitchell Lam was fourth and David Bodkins was fifth.Basich and Jacobs took the wins in the heats. Chase Alexander protected his lead in the points in the Mini Stocks by besting Roger Rush Sr. Brad Hensel,Doug Hensel and John Sinnett.Alexander and Rush were also heat winners.
